Mohanlal-Priyadarshan team up for a 30 crore budget movie, produced by Maniyanpilla Raju
Mollywood’s all-time favorite combo, Mohanlal- Priyadarshan is teaming up again. This time for a big budget movie produced by actor/producer Manianpilla Raju.
This movie will be written by acclaimed filmmaker TK Rajeev Kumar. Reportedly, this upcoming movie will be an entertainer made on a grand scale with a budget of Rs 30 Crores.
Mohanlal and Priyadarshan recently teamed up for the blockbuster movie Oppam. Oppam, a crime thriller had Mohanlal playing a full fledged role of a blind man for the first time in his career. Mohanlal’s amazing performance and Priyadarshan’s slick direction was highly appreciated by the critics and the common audience.
The movie released during the Onam season, went on to become a huge commercial success registering over 50 crores in the box office. The two have given some all time classics like Chithram, Kilukkam, Adhwaitham, Abhimanyu, Vellanakalude Naadu, Thalavattam etc. So naturally expectations are on the higher side whenever the two join together.
The makers are currently busy with the casting for the new movie. Female lead for the movie is yet to be finalized. An official announcement on the movie along with the details of its cast and crew is expected in the coming days.
Mohanlal meanwhile will be joining the second schedule of Major Ravi’s upcoming war movie 1971 : Beyond Borders. He has also committed for some other big budget projects with directors B Unnikrishnan, Vysakh and Prithviraj Sukumaran (Lucifer). Next year, Mohanlal will be acting in the epic drama Randamoozham scripted by MT Vasudevan Nair. Reportedly, it will be made as a multilingual with a whopping budget of 600 crores.
