Mohanlal to do three guest role this year!
Mohanlal has a busy year ahead with a handful of projects. Besides playing the lead roles in Odiyan, Ajoy Varma’s thriller and Prithviraj’s Lucifer, he has also committed to do cameo roles in three other movies. The superstar has previously appeared in guest roles in films like Manu Uncle, Peruvannapurathe Visheshangal, Kadal Kadannoru Maathukutty etc.
Reportedly, Mohanlal will be appearing as himself in director Ranjith’s upcoming love story Bilathikadha. The other big M, Mammootty was initially supposed to do this role but he got busy with other assignments. Maniyanpilla Raju’s son Niranj and Anu Sithara are playing the lead roles in the movie, scripted jointly by Ranjith and Sethu. Though Mohanlal’s is a guest role, the character has a lot of prominence in the plot. He has allotted ten days from his busy schedule and is expected to join the team in England next month.
Vaarikuzhiyle Kolapathakam is another film in which Mohanlal will be appearing in a cameo role. All those who have watched the classic comedy hit ‘No.20 Madras Mail’ will remember the title ‘Vaarikuzhiyile Kolapathakam’. It is the novel written by Maniyanpilla Raju’s character Hitchcock Kanjikuzhi. Mohanlal plays his friend Tony Kurishingal in the movie. After all these years, Vaarikuzhiyile Kolapathakam is finally being made as a movie. Rejishh Midhila of ‘Lal Bahadur Shastri’ fame is directing this movie which stars Dileesh Pothan and Amit Chakkalakal in the lead. Though Mohanlal’s guest role has been confirmed, it is not yet known if he he will be appearing as Tony Kurishingal or as an entirely different character.
In Nivin Pauly’s Kayamkulam Kochunni, Mohanlal is playing the role of Ithikara Pakki. Roshan Andrewss is directing this big budget movie scripted by Bobby-Sanjay. The makers have informed that Mohanlal will be seen in a major role with immense scope for performane. Pakki was the first legendary Robin Hood of Kerala and he and Kochunni were contemporaries. The combination scenes between Nivin’s Kochunni and Mohanlal’s Pakki is said to be the movie’s major highlight. Mohanlal will be sporting a new look and will be part of the upcoming schedules in Mangalore, Goa and Sri Lanka.
