Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi writer Hashir Mohammad imprisoned for three years jail term

Scriptwriter Hashir Mohammad who was arrested in 2014 for a rape attempt, has been punished for three years imprisonment by the Ernakulam additional sessions court. Along with the three years imprisonment, a fine of Rs 40,000 was imposed on Hashir.

Hashir started his career in movies by scripting Anwar Rasheed’s film, Aami, a segment in 5 Sundarikal, an anthology of five movies. He shot to fame by scripting Sameer Thahir’s Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi, starring Dulquer Salmaan and Sunny Wayne in the lead roles. The movie, released in 2013 is considered to be the best road movie to have ever released in Malayalam cinema.

Hashir, in February 2014 was arrested for an attempted rape allegedly under the influence of drugs. He tried to assault a neighbouring woman in his flat in Kochi. Police investigation had confirmed that he was inebriated during the rape attempt.

During the interrogation, Hashir had said that he was only following Gods’ message to commit the seven deadly sins which also included rape.

After completing his engineering in 2006 from the College of Engineering Trivandrum (CET), Hashir worked with companies such as Accenture in Chennai, Nokia in Helsinki and Deutsche Bank in Singapore.
