Omar Lulu confirms going ahead with Power Star; FEFKA offers full support
The sudden passing away of Dennis Joseph has upset the whole of Malayalam film industry as well as the movie lovers. The veteran, who has scripted numerous blockbusters in the 80s and 90s, was eyeing to make a strong comeback. He was supposed to team up with director Omar Lulu for a big-scale action film titled ‘Power Star’. The project was announced last year with Babu Antony as the lead.
Omar has revealed that Dennis Joseph has completed scripting the film and they were planning to start works on the final draft soon. With his untimely demise, many have expressed doubts regarding the project’s future. Omar, though, has cleared all the airs by confirming that they will be going ahead with the project. The FEFKA union has offered him complete support. Udhayakrishna and director B Unnikrishnan have also volunteered to help with the final script works. Omar considers it a blessing and big responsibility to bring out Dennis Joseph’s last script.
‘Power Star’ has been planned as an action-packed mass entertainer with the story centred around drug deals in Kochi and Mangalore. Kannada star Shreyas Manju, Hollywood actor Louis Mandylor, Riyaz Khan, Baburaj, Abu Salim and Robert Parham, a retired American kickboxer, are all confirmed in the cast. Ravi Basrur, the music director of ‘KGF’ series, has also been signed.
It now remains to be seen when the makers decide to start shoot.
