Playback singer Vaikom Vijayalakshmi ties the knot
The highly talented playback singer Vaikom Vijayalakshmi got married today to mimicry artist Anoop N in the presence of close friends and family members. Their wedding took place between 10.30 AM and 11.30 AM at Vaikom Mahadeva Temple. The couple got engaged on September 10 at their residence, Usha Nivas, in Vaikom. Anoop, who hails from Pala, is an interior designer by profession.
Vijayalakshmi, the visually challenged singer, is loved by music lovers for her unique voice and impeccable rendering. She has sung several hit tracks, not just in Malayalam, but in all the four South Indian languages. She has worked with several top music directors like MM Keeravani, Ouseppachan, Bijibal, Shaan Rahman, Santhosh Narayanan, D Imman and GV Prakash Kumar.
Last year, Vijayalakshmi had called off her wedding with an NRI Malayali after some unacceptable demands by the groom’s side. Not one to go down, she soon set a new world record by playing 67 songs with the Gayathriveena instrument in a five-hour-long marathon concert.
