Police arrested the one who spread Amar Akbar Anthony pirated print

Piracy is one of the biggest problems that kills our cinema and the main reason for the downfall of our film industry. Recently we saw great controversy in this matter when the censor copy of the film Premam came out and spread all over. Still the trend goes on without any stopping and blockage. Because after that issue we saw many such issues of piracy came up in Kerala when the pirated prints of Tamil and Malayalam cinema started coming in internet and through pirated CD/DVD’s in market within weeks of the release of the film in screens.

The latest on this list is the blockbuster film Amar Akbar Anthony. Its pirated version was released in the market long days back and somehow police had made an arrest last day. Police had arrested a man for spreading the pirated print of the film.

The arrested one was a Njarakkal native and his name is Sreekanth. He is a 30 year old youngster who made and spread the pirated CD/DVD’s of the film Amar Akbar Anthony and last day Thrikkakkara police made the arrest and seized all the CD/DVD’s of the film from his custody. Kalamasserry CI C J Martin, Thrikkakkara SI Vipin Das etc lead the operation that lead to the arrest of the culprit. SI Eldho, ASI Jabbar, woman CPOS Prami Mol, Priya etc were took part in the police operation. Police said that they will start more investigation on this and go in to a detailed operation to find out its roots.

Amar Akbar Anthony directed by Nadirsha starring Prithviraj, Jayasurya and Indrajith had got great support from the Malayali audience and become the 5th blockbuster of this year in box office of Mollywood and second one starring Prithviraj in it. The film had crossed 30 crore gross collection from Kerala and the piracy said to have affected it as the collections have dropped drastically down in the last one or two weeks. Some other films also suffering the same fate and hope that police will find out the main culprits very soon.
