We have already reported that Alphonse Puthren directorial, Nivin Pauly starrer romantic comedy flick that hit the screen all over on May 29 has been cruising at Box office great word of mouth from the people and terrific gross collection as well. The film on the way to become one of the biggest hits in Mollywood and according to the reports given by the trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai via Twitter the flick has hot rupees 10 crore 30 lakhs gross collection from the 7 days of its theater run all over.
It had already broked the record hel by the Multi star Blockbuster Bangalore Days that released last year directed by Anjali Menon and starred by young stars of Kerala like Nivin Pauly, Dulquer Salmaan, Nazriya nazim and Fahadh Faasil. The box office gross of Bangalore days has been 8.5 crore as per stats in the first week of its release. Premam with a collection over 10 crore from is first week there by can be called a super hit of this year and now it is sailing strongly towards blockbuster status which will be Nivin Pauly’s second this year and the consecutive one too.
Before the release of Bangalore Days the first week collection record was holded by Jeethu Joseph directorial Mohanlal starrer film Drishyam which came to hit the silver screens in 2013 December. Being a family film without any masala entertainment elements Drishyam took Kerala box office by storm after its first week due to never seen never before mouth publicity and ended up as the biggest and greatest ever blockbuster in Malayalam film industry and critically also it created a wave all around India as one of the best ever on Indian screen and it had already remade to 4 other Indian languages as well. The Tamil and Hindi version will release in the next Month.
The shows of Premam had increased at many centers all over and it gives the hope that the film will do well in its second week as well and pose a threat to the records created by Drishyam and Bangalore Days which are standing at the first and second position at the top of the table respectively.
