The Priest enters second successful week of theatrical run
Mammootty’s ‘The Priest’ has successfully entered its second week of theatrical run. After months of waiting and multiple postponing, the film finally got released on March 11 amidst huge hype. Fans lapped up the film and as expected, it took a big opening at the box office.
‘The Priest’ is the first major release in Malayalam after a year and theatre owners are extremely pleased with its performance. Its release has proved to be a major booster for theatres in Kerala. Representatives of the Film Exhibitors United Organisation of Kerala (FEUOK) even visited Mammootty at his residence to thank him for helping in reviving the dwindling theatre business. Its success is a clear indication that the common audience, mainly comprising of families, are returning back to enjoy the big screen experience after a long gap caused due to the pandemic.
‘The Priest’ is a mystery thriller directed by debutant Jofin T Chacko. The film also has Manju Warrier, Nikhila Vimal, Saniya Iyappan and Baby Monica in prominent roles. It is jointly produced by Anto Joseph, B Unnikrishnan and VN Babu.
