Prithviraj initially wanted to do Lucifer as an 11-episode web series

Talks about ‘Lucifer’ refuse to die down. Even after its online release in Amazon Prime, the movie is still being screened in a select few theatres in the state. The movie is currently the highest grossing Malayalam movie. As claimed by the makers, it has done an overall business that exceeds well over Rs 200 crores.

Ever since the release of ‘Lucifer’, there have been numerous talks about the possibilities of a sequel to the movie. The makers have left several open ends in the film and a very intriguing tail end. Time and again, they have also added fuel to speculations by hinting about a second part

Prithviraj, who made his directorial debut with ‘Lucifer’, was recently asked about the possibility of a sequel. He made it clear that he currently has no such plans as it requires a lot of time and effort to plan a sequel, which should naturally be much bigger in terms of scale. However, he also added that ‘Lucifer’ was never planned as an one-film story. Interestingly, Prithviraj had thought about doing it as an 11-episode web series as the story was that vastly spread out but unfortunately, it didn’t materialize.

Recently, writer Murali Gopy had also now posted a note in his Facebook page hinting that the wait for ‘Lucifer 2’ won’t be too long. Though the makers are yet to make an official word, fans are already excited to see more of Stephen Nedumbally aka Abram Qureshi. Let’s hope the project materialises soon.
