The reason for their protest is related to Rajinikanth’s silence in the issue in which some Tamil fishermen held as prisoners by Sri Lankan Navy. They also says that Rajinikanth gives confusing answers to youngsters whenever they asks him about his political views and his plans to enter politics. According to them, Rajinikanth is not a Super Star, but a Zero Star and they are protesting with flex boards and posters in which they wrote all those above mentioned reasons against Rajinikanth. They wants the Tamil Nadu government to stop the release of Kabali.

Pa Ranjith had directed this movie and he scripted it as well. Popular film producer Kalipuli S Thanu had financed this project.
