Rajinikanth heaps praise on Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal over a phone call to director Desingh Periyasamy
‘Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal’ (KKK) starring Dulquer Salmaan and Ritu Varma was one of the biggest surprise hits in Tamil cinema this year. Its director Desingh Periyasamy recently got a call from superstar Rajinikanth, who was highly impressed by the film. The audio of the phone call has been leaked and is currently going around in social medias.
Rajinikanth is heard showering praise on Periyasamy over the call. He was so impressed by the director’s work that he also asked the youngster to come up with something interesting for him. Periyasamy is a huge fan of Rajinikanth and has often said that it in his interviews. So it really was a cloud-nine moment for him and he took to his Twitter handle to share the excitement.

‘KKK’ is a con film with some clever twists that keeps the audience engaged throughout. Along with Dulquer and Ritu, it also had Rakshan, Niranjani Ahathian and Gautham Menon in major roles. The film was released amidst very less hype and it had an average opening. Soon it picked up courtesy the positive word of mouth and within a couple of weeks, it was declared a superhit. Streaming giant Netflix later bagged its rights.

‘Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal’ was also dubbed and released in Telugu as ‘Kanulu Kanulu Dochayante’. The Telugu version had set a new TRP record recently. It recorded a rating of 7.1 which is said to be the highest ever for a dubbed film in Telugu.
