If reports which are coming now are to be believed M T Vasudevan Nair’s world famous work Randamoozham is all set to be made into a hollywood film in the near future and mollywood will lose that opportunity make it speak Malayalam. Earlier there were unofficial reports that Randamoozham will made in mollywood and Bollywood with Mohanlal playing the central character of Bheeman, Amitabh Bachchan as Bheeshma, Aishwarya Rai as Droupathi, Vikram as Arjuna etc and the film will be shot in two parts. According to that report Sreekumar who had directed the famous Kalyan Jewellers advertisement was all set to direct that film.
But now sources reporting that Randamoozham will be speaking English and may be Hindi as well but not Malayalam anymore. One director will be making it into English and Hindi respectively. The news explains that M T Vasudevan Nair was offered crores to write the script and he had already started writing it after receiving 25 lakhs rupees as advance. Still there is no details about who will direct the film and who will be playing the lead roles. But we are hearing it from very start of every rumour related with this project that Mohanlal will be the automatic choice to play Bheema the lead along with Amitabh Bachchan as Bheeshma. The same thing is hearing with the latest news as well.
Earlier Mammootty had said in an interview that the role of Bheema was a dream role for him as well. But M T Vasudevan Nair prefers only Mohanlal for his epic character as he thinks only Mohanlal can do justice to this role as sources close to him says. The earlier rumours also said that south Indian actors like Nagarjuna also will play key role in this flick.
We don’t know what is going to happen with Randamoozham as it is a long awaited project and still there is no confirmed news about its movie version. Once it reached a level to an official confirmation with Hariharan as director and Gokulam Gopalan as financer with Mohanlal in the lead. But later it had not materialized and now we have to wait and see that will Hollywood make this happen in the world stage.
