Ranjith Sajeev: Charting a Bold Cinematic Journey from ‘Mike’ to ‘United Kingdom of Kerala’
Ranjith Sajeev’s cinematic journey began with Mike (2022), a coming-of-age drama directed by Vishnu Sivaprasad and produced by John Abraham. In his debut role as Antony John, Ranjith portrayed a once exuberant but now despondent young man grappling with personal demons. His performance was noted for its depth and maturity, earning him the Kerala Film Critics Award for Best Debutant Actor.
In 2024, Ranjith took on the role of Leonardo Calpo in Qalb, a romantic tragedy directed by Sajid Yahiya. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Alappuzha, the film explores the seven stages of love through the journey of Leo and Thumbi, played by Neha Nazneen. Ranjith’s portrayal of Leo, a man torn between dreams of migration and newfound love, was lauded for its emotional resonance.
Continuing his trajectory, Ranjith starred as ASP Sandeep Krishnan IPS in Golam (2024), a police procedural thriller directed by Samjad. His portrayal of the diligent investigation officer added a layer of authenticity to the film’s gripping narrative.
Now, Ranjith is set to appear in United Kingdom of Kerala, directed by Arun Vaiga. The film, slated for release on May 23, 2025, promises a compelling narrative with a stellar ensemble cast.
