Anwar Rasheed now become a prominent figure in Malayalam film industry and he had contributed to Mollywood as a director, producer and distributor. He has produced 2 films till now and both of them become the biggest hits of Mollywood just placed below Mohanlal starrer Jeethu Joseph film Drishyam financed by Antony Perumbavoor. The two films he produced was Anjali Menon directorial Multi-starrer film Bangalore Days and now Premam conceived by Alphonse Puthren. Bangalore Days was produced by Anwar Rasheed in association with Weekend Blockbusters and Premam was financed by him alone under his banner named Anwar Rasheed Entertainments.

But now in an Interview to popular online media named South Live Anwar Rasheed said that he is going to resign from all cinema association in which he is a part of in the light of recent issue regarding the piracy of his film Premam. Anwar Rasheed said in the interview that even after complaining to the law enforcement organization such as Anti-Piracy cell of Kerala Government and also to the various association in the cinema field there has been not action taken yet. He said that everyone keeping silence about the issue as if they do not want to catch the criminal.

Anwar Rasheed said that he himself contacted Anti- Piracy cell and gave them details about some shops which sells the pirated prints of the film and still they did not take any action against it. Anwar said that it is difficult to track down the ones who uploaded it and that can be understood. But it is not a difficult task to find out and take action against those who sells the pirated prints in public through shops and street marketing. Still there is no action being taken against all those criminals. He said that he gave them the details about two studios in Chennai and Trivandrum which has the censor copy of the film and still they did not used any of that information to track down the source from which it had come out.

Anwar says that these associations of cinema does nothing for the betterment of our Malayalam film industry and completely useless in all the sense. He is going to do films independently without the support of any of these associations in the future and he also warned that turning a blind eye towards the issue of piracy will kill Malayalam Cinema Industry oneday.
