Shoot for director Rosshan Andrrews’ new film ‘Prathi Poovankozhi’ is currently progressing in Kottayam. The film is scripted by Unni R. Manju Warrier plays the lead role with Anusree and ‘Kumbalangi Nights’ fame Grace Antony also essaying prominent roles. It is being produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Sri Gokulam Films.
As reported by us recently, director Rosshan Andrrews is making his acting debut with ‘Prathi Poovankozhi’. Interestingly, the director will be seen in a negative role in the film. The character, named Antappan, was originally supposed to be done by Joju George but it didn’t work out due to various reasons. Though the makers had approached few other actors, nothing fell in place. Rosshan eventually decided to take up the role with the support of his writer Unni R.
‘Prathi Poovankozhi’ is actually based on one of Unni R’s short stories of the same name. The original story is actually a satire that looks into the current socio-political setting from a different perspective. The film adaptation has Manju Warrier and Ansuree playing the roles of sales girls working in a textile shop.
Saiju Kurup, Alencier Ley Lopez and ‘Marimayam’ Sreekumar are also part of the cast. G Balamurugan is the cinematographer and Gopi Sunder is handling the music department.
