After scoring big in Malayalam and Tamil, Dulquer Salmaan to enter Telugu cinema
Mollywood’s young sensation Dulquer Salmaan has a wide fan base in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The success of his movies like Usthad Hotel, Bangalore Days, Charlie and OK Kanmani has made him very popular among the youngsters. The charming actor is now all set to enter Tollywood with Mahanati, the biopic of legendary actress Savitri.
Mahanati will be his first straight Telugu movie eventhough his romantic entertainer 100 Days of Love was dubbed and released last year. Current heartthrob of Kollywood, Keerthy Suresh is playing the role of Savitri in Mahanati.
Dulquer is said to be portraying the role of late Tamil actor Gemini Ganesan. It is worth a mention that Savitri was married to Gemini Ganesan in 1955. Samantha Ruth Prabhu is playing the role of a journalist in this movie directed by Nag Ashwin. There is still no official word about when the movie will start rolling.
Dulquer, meanwhile has committed for multiple projects in Malayalam. The actor recently completed his portions for Soubin Shahir’s debut directorial Parava, in which he will be seen in an extended cameo. He is currently shooting for Bejoy Nambiar’s multilingual Solo.
Dulquer Salmaan has also signed for movies with Lal Jose, debutant Salam Bukhari and Pulimurugan director Vysakh. There are also reports about him committing for two Tamil movies but it is yet to be officially confirmed.
