Soubin Shahir’s Parava pulls out of Onam race?
We are hardly a week away from the kick-start to the much anticipated Onam race. This year, almost all the major stars are having releases. Mohanlal’s Velipadinte Pusthakam, Mammootty’s Pullikkaran Staraa, Prithviraj’s Adam Joan and Nivin Pauly’s Njandukalude Naatil Oridavela are the four movies that have already been confirmed as Onam releases.
Soubin Shahir’s debut directorial Parava was also expected to hit screens during this season but we now hear that the release has been pushed to September 14. An official confirmation about the release date is still awaited. Parava is eagerly awaited by the audience courtsey the highly impressive songs and intriguing posters.
Parava, as the title suggests, the movie is connected to birds and it is reportedly about the pigeon racing practiced in the Fort Kochi, Mattanchery regions in Kochi. Dulquer Salmaan has played an extended cameo in the movie. The young star has pinned high hopes on Parava. He will be seen in a new look, sporting a moustache-less beard in the movie. Eventhough it’s a cameo role, his character will be of great importance in the storyline.
Parava stars Kismath fame Shane Nigam and some newcomers in major roles. Harisree Ashokan’s son Arjun Ashokan, late actor Sainudeen’s son Dhinil Sainudeen, Siddique, Aashiq Abu, Indrans, Jacob Gregory, Srinda Arhaan and many others are also part of the cast.
Parava is jointly scripted by Soubin Shahir and Muneer Ali. Littil Swayamp, noted for his works for the popular music band Thaikkudam Bridge’s Navarasa series, is cranking the camera for this movie. Rex Vijayan is handling the music department.
Filmmaker Anwar Rasheed and Shyju Unni are jointly producing this movie under the banner of Anwar Rasheed Entertainments.
