Superman from Irinjalakuda: Tovino wins hearts with his efforts to rehabilitate thousands affected by floods!
Torrential rains, flash floods and a series of landslides resulted in massive loss of lives and properties in Kerala. The state is slowly getting back to its feet with the combined efforts of people from different walks of the society. Heartening to say, celebrities and commoners came together to help the thousands affected by the floods. Malayali actors like Indrajith Sukumaran, Asif Ali, Tovino Thomas, Aju Varghese, Sunny Wayne and Unni Mukundan worked hard to arrange the basic items required for the relief camps.
Tovino Thomas was one of the first among cine stars to participate in the relief works. He worked hard for four continuous days and was an assuring presence in the camps in Thrissur. He is also one of the few stars who offered shelter for flood-affected people in his home town, Irinjalakkuda. His close friends and their families are currently staying in his house. Even while doing all the hard work at the camps and collection points, he came live on Facebook regularly to update and pass all necessary information.
In one of the videos from the relief camps, Tovino was seen carrying huge rice sack bags on his back. In another video, he could be seen delivering a speech to the volunteers in the relief camp, intended to motivate the residents there. His efforts in the rescue and rehabilitation works have earned him huge respect.
From someone who was mocked for accusing a fan of pinching him to lending a helping hand when the state needed it the most, the love and respect for Tovino Thomas grew miles among Malayalis.
