Tamil actor Ashok Selvan joins the cast of Marakkar Arabikadalinte Simham
The star cast of Priyadarshan’s ambitious film ‘Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham’ keeps growing. The movie already has some big names like Mohanlal, Pranav Mohanlal, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Prabhu, Arjun, Keerthy Suresh, Suniel Shetty and Manju Warrier. Latest to join the team is talented Tamil actor Ashok Selvan. The actor noted for his roles in movies like ‘Soodhu Kavvum’ ‘Thegidi’ and ‘Pizza 2’. It is also worth a mention that he has worked with Priyadarshan previously in the critically acclaimed ‘Sila Samayangalil’ aka Sometimes.
‘Marakkar’ shoot is currently progressing at Ramoji Rao Film City, Hyderabad. The movie based on the life of Kunjali Marakkar IV has superstar Mohanlal playing the titular role. Marakkar is the title given to the naval chief of the Zamorin rulers. The story set in the 15th century is about how Marakkars fought against the invading Portugese army.
‘Marakkar’ is being made as one of the most expensive movies ever in Malayalam cinema. Mohanlal’s Aashirvad Cinemas, Confident Group and Moonshot Entertainment are jointly producing the movie. Production designer Sabu Cyril, cinematographer Tirru, editor MS Ayyappan Nair and a Los Angeles-based VFX studio are part of the technical crew.
