Tovino Thomas’ reply to a fan who compared him with Mohanlal
Tovino Thomas debuted in 2013 through Dulquer Salmaan’s ABCD in a villainous role. After four years, Tovino is now one of the most promising new gen stars in the industry. The actor belongs to a non filmy background, a trait that sets him apart from most of his contemporaries.
Currently, he is enjoying all this stardom and popularity only because of his hardwork and dedication to the craft. From the grey shaded politician, Akhilesh Varma to Eby Ebineser in 7th Day to Perumpparambil Appu in Ennu Ninte Moideen to the recent Thejus Varkey in Guppy, Tovino has made rapid strides from just another actor to a dependable star who has the charisma to carry a movie entirely on his shoulders.
Recently, a fan compared Tovino with superstar Mohanlal who also started his career as an antagonist. The actor replied, “Comparing me with Lalettan makes me feel as if I have won two State Awards. But not only me, no one else can become like Lalettan. He is a legend.”
Tovino was last seen in a brief character in Prithviraj’s latest release Ezra. He has played the role of Shafeer Ahammed, a cop in the movie. Though the character has limited screen time, Tovino has given a laudable performance winning appreciation from critics as well as the audience.
This year, the actor has two other much anticipated movies in his kitty, Oru Mexican Aparatha and Godha. While he will be seen as a student activist in the former, he is playing a wrestler in Basil Joseph’s Godha.
