‘Viswaroopam’ fame Pooja Kumar also part of Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham
Ace filmmaker Priyadarshan’s magnum opus Marakkar – Arabikadalinte Simham is getting ready to go on floors next month. This epic period flick already has a massive star cast and latest to join the team is Pooja Kumar of ‘Viswaroopam’ fame. Pooja, who is an Indian born American actress, has started in several Hollywood films. She will be making her Malayalam debut with Marakkar.. , where she has been signed to play one of the female leads.
Marakkar – Arabikadalinte Simham is a historic flick based on the life of Kunjali Marakkar IV. The project has been in the news ever since it was announced earlier this year. It is being planned to be made on a budget of Rs 100 crores. Aashirvad Cinemas, Confident Group and Moonshot Entertainment are coming together to produce what is one of the most expensive projects in Malayalam cinema till date.
Since the budget involved is huge, the makers are planning it as a multi-lingual with actors from all major Indian film industries. Mohanlal plays the titular role while other stars like Pranav Mohanlal, Prabhu, Arjun, Mukesh and Suneil Shetty are also confirmed in the cast. The movie also has four heroines and the makers have signed Manju Warrier, Keerthy Suresh and Kalyani Priyadarshan.
