Wedding bells ring for Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan
After a relationship that lasted for 7 years, Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan are set to tie the knot. The two will get married on June 9 in a private resort in Mahabalipuram near Chennai. A grand reception is also planned, which is expected to attended by several top celebrities from across the country. The couple was recently spotted inviting Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin for their wedding. There are unconfirmed reports about Netflix bagging the streaming rights for the wedding and Gautham Vasudev Menon directing it.
Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan first worked together in ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’, which was the latter’s second directorial. The duo founded a new venture called Rowdy Pictures which backed ‘Netrikann’, the critically acclaimed ‘Pebbles’ (Koozhangal), besides distributing ‘Rocky’.

Vignesh Shivan’s latest directorial ‘Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal’ had Nayanthara as one of the leads alongside Vijay Sethupathi and Samantha. Nayanthara’s upcoming film ‘Connect’ with Ashwin Saravanan is also produced by their banner, Rowdy Pictures.
