Dulquer Salmaan’s CIA all set to break records!

One of the the most awaited flicks coming this year is Amal Neerad – Dulquer Salmaan team’s Comrade in America (CIA). The movie has so far got so much hype and support from its pre production time. It is expected to have a grand and wide opening in the theaters here. As of reports, it would have a release in 160+ theaters in the state.

Obviously, the most highlighted fact the fans are waiting for is the combo comprising DQ-Amal Neerad. The director who had earlier made blockbusters in the industry with his unique and modern making methods​ are loved by all the youngsters.

He had earlier made movies like Mammootty starrer Big B, Mohanlal starrer Sagar Alias Jacky, Prithviraj starrer Anwar, multi-starrer Bachelor Party and Fahad starrer Iyobinte Pusthakam. Earlier he had also done a small part in 5 Sundarikal naming Kullante Bharya with Dulquer in lead. Now, when the duo join hands once again expectations are high.

The flick is also a political drama and therefore could bring many political party supporters to theaters. From the teaser and sources close to the makers, we have known that the movie will be a complete mass entertainer giving equal importance to romance, heroism and action. CIA is expected to put in a massive first day collection and an incredible final collection in the end.

The movie penned by Shibin Francis narrates the story about Aji Mathew, a Pala based youngster who travels to US for his love interest. Majority of the movie is set and shot abroad in the US. Soubin Shahir, Dileesh Pothen, John Vijay and Jinu Joseph play prominent roles. Debutant Karthika Muraleedharan plays the female lead in the flick.

Mark Chavarria of Inception, Pearl Harbour, Terminator and Logan fame has choreographed the action sequences in CIA. Gopi Sunder composes the tracks and background score for the movie and is funded by Amal Neerad’s own banner Amal Neerad Productions.

The 64th National Film Awards were announced earlier. Akshay Kumar had bagged the best actor award for his performance in Rustom. The jury’s decision to give the actor the award without noticing the fantastic performances by actors like Manoj Bajpai (Aligarh), Nawazuddin Siddiqui (Raman Raghav 2.0) and Aamir Khan (Dangal) were questioned by man.

Everybody had criticized Akshay Kumar by saying that it was only because of Priyadarshan he had won the award. Priyadarshan is a good friend of Akshay and had headed the jury for the award selection process. During an award ceremony recently Akshay had openly commented that he is even ready to return the award back to the jury!

“It was before 26 years that I had recieved a National award. I never stick to the fact the people put up, these are often heard when an actor recieves an award. I have been hearing this from the past 25 years. They would come up with the statement that this guy should have not got, this guy was more eligibe., etc. I am fed up with such insults and is also ready to give the award back to the jury” he said.

Priyadarshan had earlier responded to the issue and clarified that Akshay Kumar’s performance in both Rustom and Airlift were considered by the jury during the selection process. But, on basis of the rules only the name of one film could be mentioned. That’s how we selected Rustom. Priyadarshan has worked with Akshay Kumar in 6 flicks like Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Bhagam Bhaag, Bhool Bhulaiya, De Dana Dan and Khatta Meetha.

The name Anurag Kashyap is not familiar among normal malayalis, the people who follow Indian cinema and directors are sure to know this great director. He is listed as one among the best filmmakers in our country. He is also the only director in India who has been awarded the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the Government of France.

Lately, the director had posted a photo alongside the complete actor Mohanlal using his official Instagram handle with the caption “With the legend @actormohanlalofficial My day is just gotten super” After the photo had gone viral all over social medias the fans believe that either Mohanlal is set to act in another bollywood movie or Anurag Kashyap is coming to Mollywood! We are waiting to know that if anything of such happens and if so will keep you updated.

Currently Anurag is part of a Malayalam movie; he is the screenplay writer for Geetu Mohandas – Nivin Pauly team’s Moothon. The film tells the story of an elder brother coming in search for his younger one in another lamd. The principal shooting location is Lakshwadeep islands. Mohanlal earlier had announced his dream project The Mahabharata in which he plays the role if Bheeman. The movie marks a new milestone not only for Malayalam cinema bit also for Indian cinema. It is produced on a whopping budget of 1000 crores by UAE billionaire and business tycoon BR Shetty.

The actor had earlier reported that he would move aside from cinema for one or one and a half years and would fully indulge in the works of the Mahabharata. The actor would be doing body building in this time period as he is all set to take in a strong and mighty role. “Bheeman requires a lot of physical build up and I need to fully reprise and act in as Bheeman which is a humongous task” he says.

He adds “This is not just a normal film that I enact, this is a pride flick for both Malayalam industry and Indian industry in front of the world. I never used to physically get ready for any of my movies. I only get ready by mental methods, but this one is much different and I would have to put in a lot of effort to reprise the mighty Bheeman”

“There would be many war sequences in the movie and Bheeman’s gadha is the highlight. Gadha is Bheeman’s weapon and the movie would be filled with the gadha war sequences. I would need a long time to practice such scenes and would also go to America to learn modern and hi-tech war techniques.

We had earlier reported that Priyadarshan would be teaming up with Megastar Mammootty for a movie after 17 long years. New updates suggest that Dileep is also playing a lead in the flick. If the movie happens, it would be after a long time Malayalis see a super combo coming up with a film.

Priyadarshan had finally directed Mammootty for Megham 17 years ago but the movie had not impressed the box office well. Dileep had last acted in a Priyadarshan movie Vettam in 2004. Though the movie was a very good comedy entertainer it was a disappointment at the box office. Priyadarshan had informed the latest news to a Malayalam daily and is all set to begin it’s initial works. Both the actors would join the film only after their current commitments.

Priyadarshan’s last Oppam was a blockbuster at the Malayalam box office. The movie marked the comeback of the ace director to his home industry after Arabiyum Ottakavum P Madhavan Nayarum and Aamayum Muyalum had disappointed the audience. As the star combo joining this time expectations are kept high from the audience point of view.

Sethurama Iyer is one of Mammootty’s career best performances. The role in which he plays a CBI investigation officer was well accepted by audience right from it’s first part. It is clearly based on many real cases that had happened at various periods in our state. The movies in which Mammootty had reprised Sethurama Iyer’s role was fully filled in with realistic and suspense elements.

The latest buzz that has now come out is that K Madhu will be teaming up with Mammootty and SN Swamy to visualize the next part. He had given a small hint about the flick on Facebook after watching an interview SN Swamy given to Manorama News. It reads:

Only because of our dedication and togetherness we had made hits like Oru CBI diary Kurippu, Jagratha, Sethurama Iyer CBI and Nerariyan CBI. I understand that the audience are eagerly waiting for another CBI flick from our team. Wait for the next movie in the series which is all set to make a milestone in the Malayalam film industry…”

Mohanlal- Major Ravi team’s fifth installment in the Major Mahadevan series is all set to be filmed. The film was said to make the record of the highest number of sequels played a specific character. But if reports state true, the Mohanlal movie will still stay together with the CBI series with 5 movies in number.

Baahubali 2 to be released in more than 300 screens all over Kerala!

Baahubali 2 is all set to hit screens worldwide on the 28th of this month. The team had visited Kerala a few days ago as part of the final promotions. The first part had a grand welcome all over Kerala and the second part is believed to double the hypr as it reveals an important suspense in the whole storyline.

Global United Media had informed that the movie will hit in more than 300 screens in Kerala alone. 50 theaters in the 300 have confirmed having shows at 6 in the morning. This is the first time such a huge release happens in our state.

Referring to the previous part, it is expected Baahubali 2 : The Conclusion would collect Rs. 750 in it’s final collection. The film had already made Rs 500 crore in it’s pre-release deals. And when calculating, the final collection will be an approximate of above Rs. 1000 crores. Bahubali 2 : The Conclusion is the largest movie ever made in our country referring to the budget.

Nivin Pauly’s political drama Sakhavu is still continuing it’s good run at theaters after 10 days of release. The movie in which Nivin plays dual roles as Sakhavu Krishnan and Sakhavu Krishnakumar is directed by National Award winner Siddharth Shiva.

As per reports, we get to know that the actor is currently undergoing training for the martial art originated in our state Kalaripayattu for his upcoming Roshan Andrews flick Kayamkulam Kochunni. The shoot for the movie commences soon with Nivin speaking in the olden Thiruvithamkoor slang. The principal shooting would be done in Kayamkulam and Sri Lanka.

Earlier we had reported that Nivin had been trained by acclaimed Atul Moria on advanced acting for his next Moothon directed by Geetu Mohandas. The flick tells the story of a brother coming in search of his younger brother who is in another land. The movie is said to be shot in the Lakshwadeep islands and after which he joins Roshan Andrews’s flick.

Kerala Box Office : Rakshadikari Baiju Collection Report 3 Days

Rakshadikari Baiju Oppu had hit theaters on the 21st of April. The film comprising an amazing storyline and a balanced plot is directed by Ranjan Pramod. It had gained positive reviews and ratings from audience all over the state after it’s first few days. The flick narrates the life of Baiju, an irrigation department employee and the happenings in his village.

After the completion of it’s third day the movie has collected an amount of Rs. 2.25 crores from the theaters in our state. It is clearly evident that the movie is gradually coming up and increasing it’s gross rate day by day. The movie had made a collection of Rs 63 lakhs from the 92 theaters released on it’s first day. The flick is a complete family entertainer and a 100% feel good drama.

Rakshadikari Baiju Oppu is produced by Alexander Mathew and Satheesh Kolam under the production house 100th Monkey Movies Pvt. Ltd. Prasanth Raveendran was in charge of the camera and Samjith had done the editing. Bijibal’s soothing tracks had added more life to the film. Deepak Parambol, Hannah Reji Koshy, Aju Varghese, Hareesh Kanaran, Indrans, Janardhanan, Alencier Ley and Dileesh Pothen are seen in important roles.
