Mammootty in Vineeth Sreenivasan’s next ?

Vineeth Sreenivasan is one artist and film maker who had made gold from everything he does in cinema. He can be called a man with the midas touch in Mollywood and it was Vineeth Sreenivasan who had given us Nivin Pauly the actor and later made him a star as well. Vineeth Sreenivasan had reap gold is singing as he came into the industry as a singer, then he made it in acting and later on script writing and direction as well. Like his father Vineeth also proves to be a perfect all-rounder in Mollywood.

Vineeth had directed 3 films and they are Malarvadi arts club which was his debut film as director financed by actor Dileep, thattathin marayathu which is produced by his father and actor Mukesh and later Thira which marked a comeback of actress Shobhana in to Malayalam after a while. In those films the first two were super successes and it was really these two films which had become milestones in the career of Nivin Pauly. First one is debut film and the second one is his first blockbuster hit. Thira in which he made his younger brother Dhyan Sreenivasan the male lead was critically acclaimed but not a financial success. But Vineeth had plans to do its sequel next year or so.

But the real hot news which is coming in that Mega star Mammootty will be the male lead of Vineeth Sreenivasan’s next film which may start rolling in this coming December. The news was not at all a confirmed one from either side. But the rumours are strong enough to make it a news as it is for the first time that a super star is playing the lead in a Vineeth Sreenivasan film. After Thira he only wrote one script and that too for Prajith and the film was this year’s first mega success Oru Vadakkan Selfie.

Now he is busy with his works in Kunji Ramayanam which will be directed by the debutant named Basil Joseph who was his assistant in direction. Along with Vineeth, his brother dhyan and aju Varghese also playing main roles in this flick. The work of the sequel of Thira will start right after the work of so called Mammootty film which he is planning to do as per rumours.

Mythri Malayalam Review

Mythri, the Malayalam dubbed version of this film had released today all over Kerala and it was not at all a hyped one even though the film had become a great success in Kannada language in which it originally made and now it is being touted as one of the best film ever made in Sandalwood. But the factor which made all malayalees to took much interest in the film is the presence of our own universal star and the complete actor of Indian cinema Mr. Mohanlal in a key role. Even though it was more like an extended cameo role the character had significance in the course of the story. After hearing the great reviews in Kannada many people are waiting for the release of Malayalam dubbed version to see the much appreciated film from Kannada with our super star playing an important role in that success.

After watching the Malayalam version of the film the first thought came to my mind was that this should have been made in Malayalam as well. Such a fantastic story and screenplay and the theme which it discusses was universal. In Mollywood where more and more class and thought provoking films were made, this one will be more effective and may become a topic of discussion more than it did in Kannada. But a dubbed version means it will not be able to create that punch or impact which it can create big time with its natural Malayalam version. For Malayalam version they had shot some scenes including Kalabhavan Mani who played the negative character named Kala Prathapan.

The highlight of the film was really its screenplay and direction by B.M Giriraj which realistic as well as entertaining. He perfectly narrated the story with the visuals aptly needed for the film. The performances of the lead characters are its real strength. Mohanlal as Mahadev Menon a scientist who lost his son and all set to take vengeance upon the ones who did it was super to say the least. He once again made the whole world to realize that he don’t even want much scenes or dialogues to make us spellbound with his unbelievable natural acting and only he can create such huge impact this easily in Indian Cinema.

Atul Kulkarni was another one who impressed and he again proved that what a strong and powerful actor he is. Puneet Rajkumar was as good as anyone in this flick even though there were no such scenes which really challenged him or he really had to get out of his skin to do it. But the surprise package of the film was the artist who played the role of Sidhartha the child from the juvenile home. His name is Aditya and the child artist was terrific as Sidhu. The actor who played the role of Johnson, then our Kalabhavan Mani etc also did a fantastic job. The songs by Ilayaraja was also up to the mark.

Mythri is really a thought provoking film and a class act which you can’t miss. We spend lots of money to see other language films which are just masala entertainers and nothing much, specially from Kannada or Telugu. But Mythri is a change for you, a real change and we mean it. Go for it and don’t miss it.

Its Mohanlal not Fahad in Priyadarshan’s Next

For last few days there was a news doing its rounds in the social media circles that Master Director Priyadarshan is planning to do a Mollywood film very soon and Young actor Fahad Fazil will play the male lead in that film in which Keerthi Suresh will play the female lead. The news also said that the flick will be of a comic genre and it will start rolling soon as well. But the director himself said that it was all just rubbishes and fake information about his next Mollywood project.

Priyadarshan said that his next mollywood project will be with his best friend and the universal star of Mollywood Mr. Mohanlal and he had almost completed the script of the film as well. Priyadarshan said that in two more weeks time he will complete the script and now he is giving some finishing touches to the screenplay. The director did not revealed much about the genre of the film but earlier reports suggested that the film will be a political thriller and news also heard that the flick will have a young star along with Mohanlal in a very important role.

The name which is rising up for that role was Prithviraj and we still don’t have any official confirmation about this part of the news. But the director himself a while back said that Mohanlal and Prithviraj will be seen together in his next and it will be a political thriller as well. So we guess this flick will be the one which he is talking about. Mohanlal was hero of the most number of films directed by Priyadarshan and almost 95% of the films they done together was successes at box office and some of them are evergreen classics of Mollywood. Their film ‘Chithram’ still holds the record of the film which ran most number days with regular shows in Kerala.

Priyadarshan also said that he also want to work with Fahad Fazil and had plans for him as well. But not very soon as he is busy with his Bollywood projects and his project with his most trusted friend Mohanlal.

Mollywood’s latest big time blockbuster hit Premam has made it good at the Tollywood box office as well. As per the reports coming from the Telugu film industry this mollywood flick has been doing great there as well and the film is getting great response there at the multiplexes. The Imax theaters were getting maximum occupancy from the telugu audience as the flick has got great word of mouth there as well.

This trend once again proves the fact that if a film is good one and which has elements which entertains the spectators then language, star cast or anything like that will not be barrier for anybody to enjoy a film and those will never stand in the way of the success of that particular film. It is not the first time that a Malayalam film has got great acceptance at Telugu box office. Before this it was the wonder from Mollywood, yes you guessed right it was Drishyam which has done a wonderful job at Telugu box office. Drishyam crossed the barriers of language with astonishing ease and become highly popular in all over south India and in north as well creating and still owning the record of the film which had collected the maximum and got the maximum number of days and shows as well outside Kerala.

Premam will not going that way exactly to create or broke some recoirds outside but it was surely the first film after Drishyam from mollywood to get a wide acceptance in South India. The popularity and acceptance Drishyam got in north was due to the all powering presence of Mohanlal as well and that may be the reason Premam was not a big talk over north.

But as a young actor Nivin Pauly can proud of this achievement and Alphonse Puthren can also establish himself as one of the best in South India with this success all over South India. The mulitiplex culture also helping the films to reach out to more and more audience and online promotions also making it something really big these days and it seems integral to every film’s success now-a-days.

Telugu films losing its ground in Mollywood

Once Telugu films had a great support here in Mollywood and Telugu stars like Allu Arjun always sure of a great opening at box office here and the dubbed version of his films and also other Telugu stars film made it big here. But now- a- days it seems that the demand for telugu films were not at its high and people does not pays much attention to the Malayalam dubbed version of the telugu films. The availability of prints in internet with great subtitle facilities and also poorly dubbed versions in the big screen made more and more people to use the internet versions rather than which comes on big screen.

That decline in interest is very much visible when it comes to the films of Allu Arjun who always had a great run here at Kerala box office with his films. The trade guides said that his films are sure to get at least 2 weeks of theater run at Kerala. But the recent trends at box office and theater run shows us that the interest in telugu films is declining at a rapid pace here. Allu Arjun’s last release here named Son Of Sathyamoorthy had made any impact on the box office of Kerala even after great promotions done by Allu Arjun himself by coming here at Kerala.

Allu Arjun enjoyed a youth Icon status in Kerala and people fondly called him by the name of “Mallu Arjun” owing to his great popularity here. The earlier films of his were super successes here and people were in love with his dance, action and the wholesome entertainments his films provides. He enjoyed the status of a young star here as well even though his fort is telugu film industry. Khader Hasan was the producer who always made his films dubbed and release here at Kerala.

The failures of the recent Malayalam dubbed versions of Telugu films are happening even after the great publicity given to it by our own medias. The entertainment package telugu films provides is not new to mollywood film lovers anymore and they are getting better than those films in our industry. Mohanlal seems to be widening his admirer list years after years or day by day as the number of people who admires him grows on and on every day. The impact he had made on people through his films, his attitude to life and his down to earth behaviour was unbelievable or out of the world and have to say it is indescribable as well. The charisma this man has the reach he has through his films are crossing the boundaries of state, country and language.

We recently saw his fan from Polland and at many other countries as well he many fans and they had openly expressed their admiration for this Genius from Mollywood who is here treated as the god of acting giving him a demi- God status here in Kerala and even Bollywood actor like Sunil Shetty called him the ‘god of acting’ which really tells about the skills of this man and the impact he had on the people all around him with his talent which is still said to be not exploited fully.

Now the latest addition to the ever growing list of his admirers is our cabinet minister of sports Mr. Sarbananda Sonowal who is from Assam. When he came here on Kerala he expressed his admiration for Mohanlal and said that he had seen many of his films. The minister said that lots of Malayalam films used to release in Assam and he had seen many Mohanlal films like that. Minister Sarbananda Sonowal had come here in Kerala as a part of the convention of BJP in the by-election at Aruvikkara. Sonoval also invited Mohanlal to his home one day and reports says that Mohanlal has accepted his admirer’s invitation as well.

Sonowal said that he is really sad that he cannot able to meet Mohanlal this time around as Mohanlal was busy in the filming of his new film named Kanal at Hyderabad Ramoji rao film city. BJP state president V Muraleedharan had enquired about the possibilities of setting up a meeting of Sonoval and Mohanlal but it did not materialized. Sonoval hopes that he can soon meet his hero in real life.

Alphonse Puthren is now one of the best directors Mollywood have and with the success of both his films titled Neram and Premam this man has really raised the standard of films in Mollywood. He has his own unique way of film making and a style which cannot be imitated so easily. We have many directors in our industry who has experience and many hits in their bag as a director. Sadly many of them failed in updating their knowledge about cinema and that was the real cause for their failures recently and for them this director is a learning lesson.

In Neram and Premam Alphonse Puthren not only shine as director alone. He had scripted, edited and even acted in these films and had done a great job in all the fields. The technical knowledge and skill he has in cinema is great and he always tries to update himself with new technologies that can use in cinema and new styles that can bring into film making. That itself gives a fresh feeling to his films and that is the main cause of success of his films.
He had edited the film named Neram using one of the cheapest editing softwares available named Vegas and done a terrific job even with that. Because he knows what he wants and he knows how and where it get that. That was his strength.

Another thing that separate him from others is that his master mind in marketing the films. He makes sure that from the title graphics to the lyrics of the songs everything should be a tool of marketing for his film. His first film Neram and his second film Premam was well noticed for its title designs and the lyrics of its songs such as “Pistha sumakira” in Neram and “Scene Contra” in Premam. He used the scope of online promotions to its maximum for his film.  The online promo using the song “Aluva Puzhayude” was a viral hit and it was that which really made the public to know about this film and that made them the hope and expectation regarding the film.

Alphonse Puthren is a master in using the online promotion methods which are playing the most integral part in a film’s success now-a-days. Many senior film makers still not understand the value of online promotions and even super star films were not making it to good use. They all have to look at this man learn how he uses the resources to its best effects specially the online marketing.

Mega star Mammootty is going through one of the most terrible patches of his career for the last five years and if we have to talk in the terms of box office successes he had only 1 or 2 genuine hits in these five years and all the remaining films were ate dust at box office. When we consider his last 30 releases almost above 25 of them were flops and did not make any impact at all in the box office and also in the mind of the audience. Even the so called Mega star status was in question as his films performance was too bad in box office even if it was compared to the box office performances of young and new actors who had only 2-3 years of experience.

In last 5 years he has only one blockbuster hit and that is the recent film named ‘Bhaskar The Rascal’. Now actor Devan had said about the selection made by Mammootty in the recent years. Actor Devan says that Mammootty is a great actor and he does not even fully conscious about his own talent. Devan says that when he looked at the films Mammootty had done recently it seems that nay of the characters had the strength or depth to challenge Mammootty as an actor and the failures of that films made him look more weak as a star as well.

Devan said that it was the mistake of our film makers as well as they had failed to exploit the talent of an actor like Mammootty. Shyama Prasad hits out at yellow journalism of a film magazine

Director Shyama Prasad had hits out through his Facebook page against the filthy yellow journalism of a film magazine which really manipulated the things he said to make their reach more and more. The issue began with an interview of director Shyama Prasad to that film magazine which they published with the title that Shyama Prasad had said that Prithviraj is a great actor and Nivin Pauly was not up to the mark in the light of his experience in Ivide in which he worked with both the actors.

Even though a good film Ivied did not received well at box office and it had really bowed down in front of the fabulous success got by Nivin Pauly starrer Premam directed by the Neram director Alphonse Puthren. In social media there was already a discussion about the performances of Prithviraj and Nivin Pauly as Ivide is more of a performance oriented film and almost all the people is of the opinion that when compared to Prithviraj, Nivin Pauly is not as good as an actor.

But the media published the news that the director Shyama Prasad himself said that in an interview with them and they made it the headline of the news. But actually when we search the contents of that interview there was nothing and not in any place in that interview Shyama Prasad had said like that comparing Prithviraj and Nivin Pauly.
He had come out through his Facebook status about telling the truth and he said that a third crate Malayalam film magazine had sensationalized this fake news by making it their title of the news. The content of the news has nothing like those in the title and Shyama Prasad said that this yellow journalism from the part of that magazine cannot make a lie the truth.

He said that Nivin Pauly is smart enough to not to believe it and according to him Nivin Pauly is a good actor and he had high hopes on him as an actor in the coming future. Shyama Prasad said that he is writing the post to make everyone aware of what the truth is and don’t believe in the gimmicks of such yellow medias which only aims at selfish gains.
