Mohanlal joins with Shikkar team for Kanal
Yes.. They are coming again to hunt down the Mollywood Box-office records. We are talking about an upcoming project named kanal in Mollywood. The team behind kanal is M Padmakumar and S Suresh Babu. And they have roped in the Universal star, the one and only complete actor in Indian cinema, Mohanlal for their upcoming project and as per reports another young star of Mollywood will share equal screen space with Mohanlal in this film. Reports also says that Prithviraj or Dulquer Salmaan will be that young star and the official announcement of who will do that role will come very soon.
Mohanlal- M Padmakumar- S Suresh Babu team had earlier worked together for a movie called Shikkar in 2010 and the film was a blockbuster hit of that year. Mohanlal as Balaraman gave a sterling and unbelievably adventurous performance in the movie which really mesmerized the audience. When this team is coming again, the expectations are on sky high and they are well aware of that as well.
Padmakumar and S suresh babu done Thiruvambadi Thampan with Jayaram in the lead after Shikkar but it was not a success at box office. After that debacle Padmakumar had done films like Paathira Manal, Orissa, Oru bolivian Diary (a segment of the anthology film D Company) and Poly Technique. But none of them got clicked at the Box office. Now on this one, he had high hopes.
Writer S Suresh Babu at the same time wrote Film star which had Janapriya Nayakan Dileep in the lead, Thiruvambadi Thampan which mentioned above and the critically acclaimed Kamal- Jayaram film Nadan, after his success story with Shikkar in 2010. Film Star and Thiruvambadi Thampan was a failure at box office and Nadan even though was not a commercial success, got great critical appreciation for its script and also for the performance of Jayaram.
So both M Padmakumar and S Suresh Babu needs a come back and kanal will be the one which they are looking for that come-back. The presence of Mohanlal itself is the biggest bet they can have on this project and if there is another young star with Lalettan, it will be a sure shot at box office.
10 Ennarudhukkulla rolling with high hopes
10 Ennarudhukkulla is the upcoming project of none other than Chiyaan Vikram which is directed by Vijay Milton. The ultimate success of his latest release ‘I’ made this project also a highly expected one from the actor who always gives different and fresh films for his audience. He will do anything to make his role and his film perfect and that commitment always takes his films to another level. As per reports, 10 Ennarudhukkulla will be a kind of road thriller which is based on Car race and speed action etc.
Vikram is all set to give something unbelievable as an actor to his fans and film lovers. Reports also heard that Ajith who is a master at car racing and crazy racer had given his inputs to the film and also gave tips to Vikram about the racing techniques and how to make it look like more and more real on screen. Technically also this film will be one of the best in Indian cinema. They are planning never seen action sequences and chase sequences in the film and also set to go all the way to shoot the car action scenes. They are using a camera mounted on a RC car first time ever in India to shoot the car action and chase sequences and it will be really great to watch those scenes on screen.
Cinematographer turned director Vijay Milton’s last film Goli Soda was a great success at Tamilnadu. This road thriller of his is produced by none other than A R Murugados in collaboration with Fox star studios. Apart from Vikram the film has a super star cast including Samantha, Jacky Sherof, Pashupathy, etc. The screen play and DOP of the film also done by the director himself and the music of the film is composed by D-Imman.
Vijay Milton’s first film as a director was Azhakai Irukkirai Bhayamai Irukkirathu which was got released in the year 2006 with Bharath and Mallika kapoor in the lead. Anyway after the success of I, Vikram and after the success of Goli Soda, Vijay Milton is joined hands. We hope that it will be a great success from this duo.

Will do anything for my film, says Prithviraj
Prithviraj had come of age as an actor and star for last 2 years and his rise from the ashes like a phoenix was really amazing. He had a great last 2 years with quality and quantity. In last two years he had given us films like Celluloid, Mumbai Police, Memories, Kaviya Thalaivan, 7th day, Sapthamsree Thaskaraha etc. His only failures was London Bridge and Tamar Padar. And now he began 2015 with another critically and commercially acclaimed success Picket 43 which has been getting great reports from the very first day of its release. Prithviraj recently told in an interview to a leading Malayalam television channel about his films, attitude towards profession and lot more about his future projects.
He said that Picket 43 is a success where it aptly blends the element of true friendship between two enemy nations and the universal appeal of theme was correctly established by the film. He said that he had to do many worst and not at all convincing films due to various reasons and to complete that kind of films knowing that it will not work with the audience is the biggest challenge he faces as an actor. He said it may be the same for every other actor too.
He also said that to make his film perfect he will do anything and it was his duty to give his 100% or may be more to make what he does the best. He also said that he has the ambition to direct films and his first venture as a director will coming to all in the near future itself. He has plans for it and it is his busy schedule that pulls him back from it sometime ago, when he planned one to direct. But now he has a clear plan in his mind as he said.
In an interview to a Tamil channel some months back that he had a dream combination of Mohanlal and Manju Warrier in mind if get the opportunity to direct a movie. We also hoping for that to happen and see the craftsman in Prithvi very soon.
Sana Althaf, another queen to Mollywood
Sana Althaf, now this name is familiar to malayalees through last week release in Mollywood named Mariyam Mukku. Yes, Sana Althaf was the heroin of the film directed by James Albert and none other than Fahadh Faasil played the male lead opposite Sana. Even though the film had opened to negative reviews, Sana’s character Salomi has got great appreciation from the audience.
She is been very busy now, not because she has been flooded with offers from industry, it is because she is busy with her studies for the 10th standard exam that is coming in this march. Could you believe it..? You have to. Sana Althaf is a 10th standard student even she can’t believe her luck that she got a chance play Fahadh’s heroine in James Albert’s debut as a director. She had only one sad moment after the release of the film that she cannot be able to watch the film first day first show itself as she is busy with classes that day.
Sana said that she was very tensed when the shoot was started. But Fahadh Faasil helped her a lot in acting and also tried his best to make her feel comfortable. Everyone in the set was very helpful for her and they were really patient with her. She said that it was her role as Dulquer Salmaan’s sister in Lal Jose film Vikramadithayn that paved the way for her role in Mariyam Mukku. Recommendations from Sameera Saneesh and Lal Jose was instrumental in getting this opportunity. She told the media that she wants to continue with her studies and it will be her first preference. If the film had done well, then only she will think of spending some time to build a career in cinema. She said that she has been receiving good response from everywhere including family members and her friends.
She said that Mariyam Mukku is an entertainer with all the elements like action and comedy in it. She acted in the film without using much make-up as her role was that of a girls living in the coastal area. Sana Althaf is a native of Cochin and studying in Bhavans Ernakulam.

Manju Warrier going to Kollywood..?
Manju Warrier, one of the best actresses, Mollywood had ever seen is in the news for a while since her return to acting career, after her separation from her husband who is none other than popular actor Dileep. Manju had made her comeback through the film named How Old Are You which was conceived by Roshan Andrews and penned down by Boby-Sanjay duo.
The film was a super hit at box office and also won remarkable critical appreciation to her credit. Her performance was widely appreciated and the film has sold to Tamil and Hindi for remake. Tamil remake of the film had already on the production stage with Jyothika in the lead who is also making a comeback to her acting career after a long time. She had not acted in any films since her marriage to popular tamil actor Suriya. Jyothika is also doing the telugu version of the same.
Now reports are coming that Manju got a call from none other than Surya himself to act in a Tamil film along with him and as per reports Manju will be going to kollywood for her debut there with a Suriya film. Reports are coming in that Surya was very impressed with Manju’s performance in How Old Are You and that is why he called her for this role. They are planning to start its filming in this year august. Manju will start to work in Randaammoozhamin September and Tamil film makers are planning to begin the shoot of Surya-Manju film before that.
Manju will not be the heroin of Surya in that film. It will be a different character for her. But she will play a very powerful character in the film as per reports. Reports also suggest that A.R Murugadise will be the director of the film and the official announcement will be done after Vishu. Now they are keeping everything secretly. Surya is now busy with his upcoming film Mass which is directed by none other than Hit maker Venkat Prabhu and the film has Nayanthara in the female lead. Mass has a great cast list including Mollywood star Jayaram, Riyaz khan, Samudra kani, Parthipan, Premji Amaran etc. Manju is now busy with the Sathyan Anthikkad –Mohanlal film which is untitled till now and is scheduled for Vishu release.

Shankar-Vikram team coming again
Shankar-Vikram team’s ‘I’ has been going great guns by breaking collection records all over the world. It has already become the highest grossing film in Kollywood. People still not finished praising Vikram and Shankar for their effort, talent and creativity. Now the reports are coming that this magical team will unite again for the third time. Their first union was for ‘Annyan’which was a blockbuster hit. The second one was for ‘I’, which is a record breaker hit and now what will happen at the third time..? will it be the all -time blockbuster in Indian cinema. Don’t know..? But if the news is true and the dream combination unites again , it will be something to watch out for.
It is 10 years after they have done Annyan, they did ‘I’. That too took 3 years of production to hit the screens. According to the news, their third outing will begin in 2017 and will reach the silver screens world -wide in 2019. But they will begin the script work of the film and other pre -production work in this year as per reports. There are different reports about the theme of the film is coming out. One report says that it will tell the story that happened during our independence struggle and reports also says that Shankar had narrated the story to Vikram and Vikram had agreed to do the film.
There are some other reports also which says that it will be the official remake of Indian cinemas all time blockbuster hit PK into Tamil. There have been reports earlier that Aamir Khan-Raj Kumar Hirani team’s PK will be made into Tamil language and Vijay will be the hero and Shankar will direct the film. But later reports suggests that Vijay will not be a part of it as he was already busy with his tight schedule and vikram was approached to do the role of PK. Shankar had earlier remade Raj Kumar Hirani-Aamir Khan team’s 3 idiots into Tamil as Nanpanwith Vijay in the lead. There is one more report also says that shanker is planning a film with Dhanush in the lead as well.
