Vijay’s selfie moment at Master sets goes viral

For the last few days, Tamil actor Vijay has constantly been in the news. He was shooting in Neyveli for his upcoming film ‘Master’ when officials from the Income Tax (I-T) department landed on the sets and investigated the star regrading supposed financial irregularities in connection with the blockbuster success of his recent film ‘Bigil’. Several properties belonging to the film’s producers AGS Entertainment, financier Anbu Chezhiyan and Vijay were raided by the officials.

Vijay was investigated continuously regarding tax evasion for 30 long hours before he was let off. After completing all the formalities on February 7, he returned to ‘Master’ location, where was welcomed by hundreds of fans. As soon as the actor landed on the sets, BJP cadres started protesting demanding the makers to stop the film’s shooting. They were protesting against the NLC administration for permitting the shoot in a mining belt.

This comes after the film’s crew obtained permission to shoot at the venue from February 1 to February 10 by paying a sum of Rs 25,000 per day. Later, police officers intervened and cleared the gathering. It is widely presumed that it is a targeted attack against Vijay who had voiced against the central government’s various policies like the implementation of GST and demonetization.

Ever since the protests by BJP members, hundreds of Vijay fans have been gathering outside ‘Master’ sets as a sign of support for the crew. Last day, Vijay acknowledged the huge crowd by standing on top of a van and clicking a selfie with them. The video of him waving hands at his hardcore fans and clicking selfie has gone viral across all social media platforms.

Meanwhile, Vijay has been summoned by the I-T department yet to appear in person and give clarifications within three days. Financier Anbu Chezhian and producers AGS Entertainment have also been asked to do the same.
