Fahadh Faasil to sport multiple looks in Malik

Last day, Fahadh Faasil’s new film ‘Malik’ was launched in Kochi. Mahesh Narayanan of ‘Take Off’ fame is directing the film and it is being produced by Anto Joseph Film Company. ‘Malik’, also scripted by Mahesh, is based on a real incident that occurred in Kerala a decade back. As per the makers, it big-canvas film that is being planned to be made on a budget of around Rs 25 crores.

‘Malik’ is possibly the biggest film in Fahadh Faasil’s career. The actor will be seen sporting multiple looks in the film. Apparently, the story traverses four different timelines. So, we can expect to see a strong from the ever-dependable Fahadh. Along with him, ‘Malik’ also stars Biju Menon, Nimisha Sajayan, Dileesh Pothan and Vinay Forrt in major roles. Yesteryear actress Jalaja is also making her comeback by playing a crucial role.

Besides directing and scripting, Mahesh Narayanan is also editing the film. Sanu John Varughese, who had cranked the camera for Mahesh’s ‘Take Off’, has been retained in this one as well. Sushin Shyam is the composer and sound department will be handled by Vishnu Govind and Sree Sankar. National award winner Santosh Raman is in charge of the production design. Aan Mega Media will be releasing the movie in Kerala.

Kando Kando: Check out the track sung by Mohanlal in Ittymaani Made in China

The makers of ‘Ittymaani Made in China’ have released a new song online. The track titled ‘Kando Kando’ is rendered by Mohanlal and Vaikom Vijayalakshmi. Deepak Dev has composed the song, and lyrics is penned by Santhosh Varma. Debutants Jibi and Joju are directing the movie, which is touted to be a fun-filled family entertainer.

‘Ittymaani’ has Mohanlal essaying a double role as a father and son duo.
Reportedly, the father character, Ittymathan, is a martial arts trainer based in China, while his son, Ittymaani, is a caterer by profession. He owns the company, Ittymaani Catering Service based in Thrissur. ‘Joseph’ fame Madhuri Braganza is paired with the father character and Honey Rose plays the romantic interest of Ittymaani.

The film’s elaborate cast includes Radikaa Sarath Kumar, Siddique, Vinu Mohan, Aju Varghese, Kailas, KPAC Lalitha, Johny Antony, Dharmajan, Hareesh Kanaran, Salim Kumar, Sijoy Varghese, Nandu, Aristo Suresh and Swasika. It is scheduled for a grand release this Friday. Antony Perumbavoor is producing it under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.

It seems like Tamil superstar Ajith is now showing more interest towards films with a social message. After remaking the widely acclaimed ‘Pink’ as ‘Nerkonda Paarvai’, the star is now in said to be in talks for the remake of Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Article 15’. Boney Kapoor, who produced ‘Nerkonda Paarvai’ as well as the upcoming ‘Thala 60’ has bagged the rights of ‘Article 15’. So there is a high possibility of him collaborating with Ajith for the third successive time.

‘Article 15’ is one of the most acclaimed films in Indian cinema this year. Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the film talks about the Article 15 of the Constitution of India, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth. Upon its release in June this year, the film earned widespread critical acclaim and emerged as a huge commercial success as well.

If it is remade in Tamil, Ajith will be reprising the lead role of the sincere police officer played by Ayushmann. Earlier, it was also reported that Dhanush had also expressed interest in remaking ‘Article 15’. Let’s wait and see how things unfold.

Here’s out the trailer of Pranaya Meenukalude Kadal

We had earlier reported about veteran director Kamal teaming up with a bunch of young talents for a new film titled ‘Pranaya Meenukalude Kadal’. Vinayakan plays a major role in the film, trailer of which has just been released online. From the trailer, it looks like a romantic drama set in Lakshadweep.

Gabri Jose, Ridhi Kumar and some other newcomers play the main roles. Vinayakan is essaying a very prominent role. Dileesh Pothan, Saiju Kurup, Kailas and many others are part of the cast. Director Kamal has scripted the movie jointly with veteran John Paul. In a way, it also marks the latter’s comeback after a long gap.

Shaan Rahman is the music director and cinematography is by Vishnu Panicker. Shameer Muhammed is handling the edits. The movie is being produced by John Vattakuzhi under the banner of Dani Productions. Release date is yet to be officially announced.

‘Kaappaan’ is getting ready to hit screens on September 20. This much-awaited biggie directed by KV Anand has a stellar star cast lead by two of South cinema’s biggest stars – Mohanlal and Suriya. As it was announced earlier, the movie’s trailer has been released online. It looks like a typical KV Anand style film with action, comedy, thrills, romance, dance.. But are they all in the right proportions is the crucial question that remains.

‘Kaappaan’ has Mohanlal playing the role of India’s Prime Minister. His character is named as Chandrakanth Varma and it is said to be a grey-shaded role. Suriya essays the role of a high-rank National Security Guard (NSG) officer, who is in charge of the PM’s security. The movie is touted to be an action-packed thriller that has been shot across several countries.

Its cast also includes Arya, Sayyeshaa, Boman Irani, Shamna Kasim and Samuthirakani in major roles. Arya reportedly plays the role of Mohanlal’s son in the film. Sayyeshaa is paired with Suriya and Shamna plays Samuthirakani’s wife.
Lyca Productions is producing ‘Kaappaan’. Besides Tamil, the movie is also releasing in Telugu as ‘Bandobast’. Both the versions are likely to hit screens simultaneously.

As announced earlier, the much awaited teaser of Mammootty’s upcoming film ‘Ganagandharvan’ has just been released online. It is an uncommon teaser that’s built up like a Malayalam football commentary with the now popular voice of Shaiju Damodaran in the background.

The Ramesh Pisharody directorial is touted to be a fun filled entertainer that has Mammootty in the role of a ‘ganamela’ singer named Kaladasan Ullas. Pisharody and Hari Nair have jointly scripted the movie. It is being produced jointly by Ichais Productions and Ramesh Pisharody Entertainments. Following the teaser, the makers had also informed that the trailer will be out on September 7, which happens to be Mammootty’s birthday.

‘Ganagandhrvan’ has debutante Vanditha Manoharan as the female lead. The movie also has a big supporting cast comprising of Mukesh, Manoj K Jayan, Suresh Krishna, Arya, Kalabhavan Prajod, Sunil Sukhada, Johny Antony, Abu Salim, Salim Kumar, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Hareesh Kanaran, Ashokan, Innocent, Maniyanpilla Raju and many others

Recently, Prithviraj made a surprise announcement that he will be teaming up with director Deepu Karunakaran for a new film titled ‘Railway Guard’. Unni R is scripting the film, which has Prithviraj playing the role of a railway guard posted in North East India. As per the makers, it is a big budget film that is being planned to be made on a grand scale.

In a recent interview to TOI, director Deepu Karunakaran has said that their idea is to make a ‘KGF’ like Indian pan-Indian film. The makers are currently busy with research works. Simultaneously, location scouting is also progressing in the North Eastern states.

Earlier while announcing the film, Prithviraj had written a briefing which reads,

Shoot for Jayasurya’s ‘Thrissur Pooram’ is currently progressing. Rajesh Mohanan is directing the film and it is being produced by Vijay Babu’s Friday Film House. Composer Ratheesh Vega is debuting as scriptwriter with this movie, which is touted to be an action-packed mass entertainer.

The makers had earlier roped in Swathi Reddy to play the female lead. She was supposed to play Jayasurya’s wife in the film and it was to said to be a very important character. However, the actress has now opted out due to date clashes. She has been replaced by Anu Sithara, with whom Jayasurya had earlier shared screen space in ‘Fukri’ and ‘Captain’. Their husband-wife chemistry in the latter was widely appreciated. The duo is expected to repeat the same this time as well.

As per the makers, ‘Thrissur Pooram’ is a film structured just like the real Pooram festival. It is divided into several chapters each signifying the various stages of the festival. Jayasurya plays a mass character named Pullu Giri. Senthil Krishna of ‘Chalakkudikaran Changathi’ fame reportedly plays the villain. Sabumon Abdusamad, Vijay Babu, Gayathri Arun, Mallika Sukumaran and Sreejith Ravi are also part of the cast.

Dulquer Salmaan’s much hyped ‘Kurup’ had gone on floors recently. Srinath Rajendran of ‘Second Show’ and ‘Koothara’ fame is directing the film. Jithin K Jose has penned the story and KS Aravind and Daniel Sayooj Nair have jointly scripted it. The film is based on the life of Kerala’s most wanted criminal Sukumara Kurup.

Dulquer Salmaan plays the titular role of Kurup in the film. Sunny Wayne and Shine Tom Chacko were already confirmed as part of the cast. Indrajith Sukumaran is also said to be acting in the film. There is also rumours about Tovino Thomas being a part of the film, but the makers are yet to confirm this. If it is true, then ‘Kurup’ has one of the biggest star cast in Malayalam in recent times.

‘Kurup’ is produced by Dulquer Salmaan’s own production house. Nimish Ravi of ‘Luca’ fame is cranking the camera and Sushin Shyam will be handling the music department. National award winning editor Vivek Harshan and art director Banglan are also there in the technical crew.
