Jackie Shroff signed to play a prominent role in Thalapathy 63

Shoot for Vijay’s upcoming film with director Atlee is currently progressing in Chennai. Thalapathy 63 (working title) is touted to be a sports-based entertainer. The movie has Nayanthara as the female lead. ‘Pariyerum Perumal’ fame Kathir, Vivek, Daniel Balaji, Anand Raj and Yogi Babu are also part of the movie.

Latest addition to the cast is Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff. The makers officially announced the same through their Twitter handle. It is said that he has been signed to play the antagonist’s part, but it has not yet been confirmed. Vijay confronting with such a charismatic veteran like Jackie Shroff will be very interesting to watch on screen.

Thalapathy 63 is a highly anticipated film as Vijay’s last two outings with director Atlee – Theri and Mersal – were huge blockbusters. With this film, the hit combo is trying something different from the other two films. Vijay is playing a football player’s role in the film. It is a regular commercial film with politics in sports as the crux.

The movie has a solid technical crew headed by by maestro AR Rahman. Cinematography is by ‘Mersal’ fame GK Vishnu and editing is handled by Antony Ruben. AGS Entertainment is producing the movie,which is scheduled for a grand Diwali release in October.

As ‘Mera Naam Shaji’ gets ready to hit screens, the makers have planned to release the second song. Dulquer Salmaan will be releasing the song tomorrow through his social media handle. It will be out online exactly at 5 PM.

‘Mera Naam Shaji’ starring Asif Ali, Biju Menon and Baiju in the lead roles is directed by Nadirshah. It his third film after delivering the superhits ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ and ‘Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan’. Expectations are naturally on the higher side for this upcoming movie.

‘Mera Naam Shaji’ is a story about three men named Shaji, who are from different parts of Kerala, meeting accidentally at a point.
While Baiju’s character Shaji Sukumaran is from Trivandrum, Asif Ali’s Shaji George is from Ernakulam. Biju Menon’s character is from Kozhikode. Nikhila Vimal plays the female lead. Dileep Ponnan and Shani Khader have penned the story. The former has also written the screenplay and dialogues.

DOP Vinod Ilampally, editor Johnkutty and debutant music director Emil Muhammed are part of the technical crew. B Rakesh is producing the movie under the banner of of Universal Cinema. The movie is scheduled for release on April 5.

Last day, the official trailer of Mohanlal starrer Lucifer was released in social medias. Surpassing all the expectations, the trailer has got fabulous response from the viewers. The nearly 3-minute long trailer is brilliantly cut by covering almost the entire storyline of the movie. Mohanlal’s terrific Deepak Dev’s thumping background score . The trailer has got over 2.5 million votes and over 2.56 lakh likes.

Besides the fans and common audience, even celebritites seem to be in awe of the trailer. Actor Siddharth has written in his social media handle,

First, the teaser of Mammootty’s ‘Madura Raja’ was released at 6 PM, followed by ‘Luicfer’ trailer at 9 PM. Both the videos got exceptional reception from the viewers. Youtube numbers already show lakhs of views and likes.

Both ‘Lucifer’ and ‘Madura Raja’ are mass entertainers that have the potential to set the box office on fire. ‘Lucifer’ will be the first to hit screens on March 28. The film comes with immense hype as actor Prithviraj is making his directorial debut, and that too with a superstar like Mohanlal in the lead. The official trailer of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s biopic has been titled. The movie titled as ‘PM Narendra Modi’ has Vivek Oberoi in the titular role. Omung Kumar is directing the movie which is getting ready for release on April 5. Vivek appears in multiple looks in the movie. He sports around nine different looks in the movie.

Director Omung Kumar has earlier helmed two other biopics – Mary Kom and Sarbjit, both of which were critically acclaimed. Sandip SSingh and Suresh Oberoi are jointly producing the Modi biopic and it will be presented by Legend Global Studio.

Initially, the Narendra Modi biopic was planned with veteran actor Paresh Rawal, but he opted out due to some unknown reasons. The movie now seems like a hastily planned one eyeing the Lok Sabha elections, which is also scheduled to be held in April.

Guinness Pakru starrer ‘Ilayaraja’ is all set to hit screens tomorrow (Friday, March 22). Actor Dileep recently watched a special preview screening of the movie and it seems like he was mighty impressed by it. Taking to his social media handle, the actor has requested everyone to watch the film along with their children.

‘Ilayaraja’ is directed by Madhav Ramdasan, who has earlier helmed acclaimed films like ‘Apothecary’ and ‘Melvilasom’. The director himself has penned the story while screenplay and dialogues are written by Sudeep T George. Pakru plays the lead role of a middle aged family man named Vanajan. Harisree Ashokan essays his father’s role and Gokul Suresh appears in a cameo role.

‘Ilayaraja’ tells the story of Vanajan, a vertically challenged man who works as a roadside peanut vendor. He finds it hard to meet ends for his family, which comprises his ailing wife, father and two school going kids. Vanajan’s children – Subbu and Ambu are gifted with special talents. It is basically an inspiring tale of how the underprivileged defy all odds to reach new heights.

The movie has an elaborate supporting cast comprising of Deepak Parambol, Kavitha Nair, Anil Nedumangad, Baby Ardra, Master Adhithyan, Jayaraj Warrier, Alphy Panjikaran, Binish Babu and many others.Actors Jaysurya and Suresh Gopi have rendered a track each in the movie. Ratheesh Vega is the composer. Movie Musical Cutz is presenting the movie in association with Mumbai Cine Talkies.

As informed earlier, the makers of ‘Lucifer’ have released the much anticipated trailer through social medias. Just like the earlier released teaser, the trailer reveals very little about the movie or its plot, which further raises the curiosity among the audience.

‘Lucifer’ directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and scripted by Murali Gopy is a political thriller. Mohanlal plays the lead role in the movie. Indrajith Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Vivek Oberoi, Nyla Usha, Fazil, Bala, Sai Kumar, Saniya Iyappan and many others are part of the supporting cast.

The Vysakh directorial has megastar Mammootty reprising his character from the 2010 blockbuster film, ‘Pokkiri Raja’. Udhayakrishna, who wrote the original along with Sibi K Thomas, has scripted this one alone.

‘Madura Raja’ is expected to be a full on mass entertainer on the lines of ‘Pokkiri Raja’. The movie has an elaborate cast comprising of four female leads in Anusree, Shamna Kasim, Anna Reshma and Mahima Nambiar. Sunny Leone has also performed a special dance number in the movie. Tamil actor Jai is making his Malayalam debut by playing a prominent role. Jagapathi Babu will be seen as the villain.
