Here’s the audio launch and teaser release date of Peranbu

Malayalam superstar Mammootty’s highly anticipated Tamil film Peranbu is gearing up to hit screens. The movie is written directed by Ram, who has made acclaimed films like Kattradhu Tamizh, Thanga Meengal and Taramani. Expectations for Peranbu went sky-high after it was selected for screening at some international film festivals. Recently, a teaser was released which showed the stellar response for the movie at the international arena.

The makers have announced that the grand audio and teaser launch of Peranbu will be held on July 15 at Kalaivanar Arangam, Chennai. Yuvan Shankar Raja, a regular in Ram’s films, has composed music for the movie. Apart from the movie’s cast and crew, several big names from Tamil cinema industry are expected to attend the launch event.

Peranbu is an intense emotional family drama featuring Mammootty as a doting father. Critics and celebrities, who got to watch the movie, have heaped unanimous praise on the veteran star’s performance. Earlier this year, the movie was screened at the International Film Festival of Rotterdam (IFFR) and the Shanghai International Film Festival. It secured 20th position amongst the 187 films considered for the audience award category in IFFR and was also nominated for the prestigious NETPAC (Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema) award.

Peranbu is expected to have its Indian theatrical release in the first week of August.

The first look poster of upcoming Tamil movie ’96’ was unveiled last day in social medias. The lead pair – Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha Krishnan – feature in the poster, which gives vibes of a feel-good romantic flick. The movie marks the directorial debut of cinematographer Prem Kumar, who has worked in films like Pasanga and Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom.

96 is a coming of age romantic drama with the narrative traversing through three stages of the protagonist’s life. Vijay Sethupathi will be seen in three different looks in the movie. He is paired with Trisha for the first time and their on-screen chemistry is something refreshing to look forward to.

Trisha has pinned high hopes on the movie. In a recent interview, she had said that 96 will be a beautiful romantic film on the lines of Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya, arguably her best work till date. 96 was shot in picturesque locations in Spiti Valley, Rajasthan and Kolkata. Veteran actor Janakaraj, Vinothini and Kaali Venkat are also playing prominent roles in the movie.

96 has its cinematography done by Mahendrian Jayaraju and N Shanmuga Sundaram. ‘Thaikkudam Bridge’ band fame Govind P Menon is composing the music. S Nanthagopal is producing the movie under the banner of Madras Enterprises. The makers have announced that the teaser will be released today evening.

It is already known that superstar Rajinikanth’s next is with the highly talented Karthik Subbaraj. The movie which also Vijay Sethupathi in a major role went on floors last month in Dehradun. The team has already completed the first schedule and is currently on a break. Simran, Bobby Simha, Megha Akash, Sanath Reddy, Deepak Paramesh and ‘Aadukalam’ Naren are part of the cast.

Latest buzz is that Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil has been roped in to play a crucial role in the movie. The makers are yet to confirm it officially but if turns out to be true, Karthik Subbaraj has pulled off a real casting coup. Fahadh made his debut in K-Town last year with Mohan Raja’s ‘Velaikkaran’. The movie had him playing a grey-shaded role and his performance was widely appreciated. He has another Tamil movie coming up, ‘Super Deluxe’ directed by ‘Aaranya Kaandam’ fame Thiagaraja Kumararaja. He was also initially signed for Mani Ratnam’s multi-starrer ‘Chekka Chivantha Vaanam’, but he opted out at the last moment due to some unknown reason.

In Malayalam, Fahadh has ‘Aanengilum Allenkilum’, a rom-com by debutant Vivek and Amal Neerad’s ‘Varathan’ coming up. He is also getting ready to start shooting for veteran Sathyan Anthikad’s upcoming movie scripted by Sreenivasan. If Fahadh has given his nod for Karthik Subbaraj’s movie with Rajinikanth, it will definitely be a huge booster for his career. Production giant Sun Pictures is bankrolling the movie. Let’s wait for an official announcement from their side.

Kayamkulam Kochunni is currently in the final stages of post-production. The movie directed by Rosshan Andrrews is based on the life of Kayamkulam Kochunni, a legendary highwayman who was active in Travancore during the 18th century. Nivin Pauly is playing Kochunni’s role in the movie. The actor, who is mostly known for his guy-next-door roles, had put in a lot of efforts to play the role of Kochunni. Rosshan Andrrews firmly believes that Kayamkulam Kochunni will be the best film in Nivin’s career.

Bobby and Sanjay scripted the movie after doing years of research works on Kochunni’s life. Nivin was cast in the role Kochunni as the makers felt that he could easily portray the different age groups of the character. Apart from shaving his head, the actor also worked hard to undergo multiple physical transformations during different stages of shoot.

Prior to the commencement of shoot, Nivin also took basic lessons in kalaripayattu, horse riding and worked on developing his flexibility. The kind of efforts he has put in for the movie is evident from the visuals in the trailer. He appears in multiple looks in the trailer and is also seen performing kalari and swift horse riding. The two-minute long trailer has sky-rocketed the expectations among the audience.

Apart from Nivin, the movie also has another star presence in Mohanlal, who is playing an extended cameo as Ithikkara Pakki. Sunny Wayne, Shine Tom Chacko, Priya Anand, MS Bhaskar, Manikandan Achari, Sunil Sukhada, Babu Antony, Aneesh G Menon, Amit Chakalakkal and Kannada actress Ashwini are also part of the cast.

Gokulam Gopalan is producing this big budget movie under the banner of Sri Gokulam Films. The movie has been planned as a grand Onam release in August.

Tovino Thomas has a slew of releases coming up in the next few months. One of the most exciting among them is Oru Kuprasidha Payyan directed by actor-turned-filmmaker Madhupal. Jeevan Job Thomas has scripted the movie as a murder investigation story based on some real life incidents. Anu Sithara and Nimisha Sajayan play the two female leads in the movie.

Oru Kuprasidha Payyan is eagerly awaited by Malayali cinephiles as Madhupal is a much revered filmmaker. His earlier films – Thalappavu and Ozhimuri – were widely acclaimed that won numerous accolades as well. The director is making a comeback after six long years so expectations are naturally on the higher side.

According to Madhupal, Oru Kuprasidha Payyan is a relevant story that is based on many true incidents. Compared to his previous films, this one will have a more commercial appeal. He has tried to incorporate some unique and fresh elements to keep the audience engaged throughout the movie. Tovino, in such a short career, has already proven his ability to portray challenging roles. He has a performance oriented role in Oru Kuprasidha Payyan and Madhupal believes that the actor has not something like this before.

Tamil actress Saranya Ponvannan, Lijomol Jose, Nedumudi Venu, Siddique, producer Suresh Kumar, Dileesh Pothan, Sujith Sankar, Pasupathi, Alencier Ley, Sudeer Karamana, Saiju Kurup and Balu Varghese are also part of the movie’s cast. The movie produced by V Cinemas is expected to hit screens by the end of August.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi recently met Tamil filmmaker Pa. Ranjith in Delhi to talk about his films and political ideologies. Actor Kalaiyarasan was also present during the meet. Sharing photos from their meet, Rahul Gandhi tweeted,

I met film director P A Ranjith the man behind blockbuster films like Madras, Kabali and Kaala and actor Kalaiyarasan, in Delhi yesterday. We talked about politics, films and society. I enjoyed the interaction and look forward to continuing our dialogue.

Pa Ranjith is one of the most wanted filmmakers in Kollywood at present. Despite being just four-film-old, the director has carved a niche for himself with his works that have strong political subtexts. Except for his debut film, Attakathi, all his other movies – Madras, Kabali and Kaala – discussed in detail about the plight of the oppressed community and the cast-class inequalities prevalent in our society.

Pa Ranjith’s recently released Kaala starring Rajinikanth was loaded with criticisms on the ruling Narendra Modi government and their controversial policies like Digital India and Swach Bharat. Official: Release date of Rajinikanth’s 2.0 announced

Indian cinema audience have been waiting for the release of Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 for nearly two years now. The movie was initially planned for release last Diwali but later saw multiple postponing due to extensive VFX works. On Tuesday, director Shankar announced that the movie will hit screens worldwide on November 29. The ace filmmaker has tweeted,

“Hi everyone.. atlast the vfx companies promised the final delivery date of the vfx shots. The movie will release on nov 29th 2018.”

2.0 is the sequel to Enthiran aka Robot, which was released back in 2010. The movie also directed by Shankar was a massive hit across the country. This time the expectations are multifold as two of Indian cinema’s biggest superstars, Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar, are coming together for the first time. While Rajinikanth appears in a dual role as scientist Vaseegaran and the robot Chitti, Akshay Kumar essays the antagonist’s role. Amy Jackson plays the female lead.

Shankar has scripted the movie jointly with Jeyamohan. Many internationally acclaimed technicians are associated with 2.0. AR Rahman is composing the music and Resul Pookkutty is in charge of the sound design. Legacy Effects, who have worked in movies like Avengers, Jurassic Park, Iron Man etc are working on the animatronics department. National award-winner Srinivas Mohan is supervising the VFX works.

With 2.0 scheduled for release on November 29, filmmakers across the country will be planning their releases accordingly to avert a box office clash with this biggie.

Mohanlal-Ranjith team’s Drama out of Onam race?

After an eight month long break, Mohanlal is set to make a comeback with four back to back releases. The actor has Neerali, Kayamkulam Kochunni, Drama and Odiyan in gearing up for release. While Neerali is slated to hit screens this Friday (July 13), Kayamkulam Kochunni is scheduled for release by the third week of August. Drama was supposed to hit screens on August 24 during the Onam holidays.

However, latest reports suggest that the movie’s release has been postponed to a further date in September. The makers are yet to confirm it officially but if Drama has indeed pulled out of the Onam race, the battle for glory at the Kerala box office will be between Kayamkulam Kochunni and Mammootty’s Oru Kuttanadan Blog.

Drama is eagerly awaited by the Malayali audience as Mohanlal is reuniting with ace filmmaker Ranjith after a three year long gap. Unlike their earlier films, Drama will not have any superstar elements like massive action scenes or powerful dialogues. Ranjith has scripted it as a feel-good movie with good dose of humour, sentiments and family drama. The recently released teaser gave hints of a fun entertainer, something that Mohanlal has not done in the recent past.

Mohanlal has pinned high hopes on the movie. According to him, Drama is a kind of movie that has not been attempted before in Malayalam cinema. The story, set entirely in UK, revolves around a middle-aged couple. Asha Sarath plays Mohanlal’s pair in the movie. It also has Arundhathi Nag, Niranj Maniyan Pilla Raju, Siddique, Johny Antony, Renji Panicker, Shalin Zoya, Tini Tom and Baiju as part of the cast.

MK Nassar and Maha Subair are jointly producing the movie under the banners of Lilypad Motion Pictures and Varnachithra Good Line Productions.

Dulquer Salmaan’s debut Hindi movie Karwaan, in which he co-stars with Irrfan Khan and Mithila Palkar, is gearing up for release. Noted actor/theatre personality Akarsh Khurana is directing this movie, which promises to be a fun-filled road flick. As informed earlier, the makers have released the first single from the movie. The song titled ‘Chota Sa Fasana’ is rendered by Arijit Singh. Anurag Saikia has composed the song, lyrics for which is penned by director Akarsh Khurana.

Kaawaan traces the story of three people who are on a journey from Bangalore to Kochi via Ootty. Bejoy Nambiar has penned the movie’s story while Akarsh Khurana has written the screenplay jointly with Adhir Bhatt. Hussain Dalal, the dialogue writer of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and 2 States, has written dialogues for this movie as well.

Karwaan is a slice of life kind movie with prominence to realistic humour. The characters played by Irrfan Khan, Mithila Palkar and Dulquer are from different walks of life who come together at one juncture of their lives. All the three actors have equal importance in the movie. Ronnie Screwvala is funding Karwaan under the banner of RSVP Films in association with Ishka Films. The movie is all set to hit screens on August 3.

We had earlier reported about director Vyaskh planning to do a movie with young star Nivin Pauly. Writer Udhayakrishna and Vysakh have been working on the script for sometime now. If latest reports are to be believed, the movie has been titled as Gouri. Vaishaka Rajan will be producing the movie under his banner Vaishaka Films. The makers are planning to start shooting from October second week once Vysakh and Nivin are free from their respective commitments.

Vysakh has been on a break for nearly two years after delivering the all-time blockbuster ‘Pulimurugan’. He is now getting ready to start shooting for Raja 2 with megastar Mammootty. The movie, which is a spin-off on the character Raja from ‘Pokkiriraja’, is slated to go on floors in August. After completing the first schedule of Raja 2, Vysakh will start works for his upcoming movie with young star Nivin Pauly.

This is the first time Vysakh and Nivin are working together, so the audience are eager to know more about the movie. Udhayakrishna has reportedly scripted an action packed romantic film set in the backdrop of a campus. Vysakh has pinned high hopes on this movie as this is the first time an actor from the younger generation is doing a full on mass action flick. More details regarding the movie will be announced in the coming days.

Nivin Pauly meanwhile is prepping up to start shooting for Dhyan Sreenivasan’s directorial debut Love Action Drama (LAD). The movie has him paired with lady superstar Nayanthara. LAD is slated to start rolling on July 14 in Chennai.
