Sai Pallavi plays an auto driver in Dhanush’s Maari 2

Sai Pallavi plays an auto driver in Dhanush’s Maari 2

Shoot for Dhanush’s Maari 2 has reached the half way stage. The movie, which is the sequel of the 2015 film Maari, is highly anticipated by the Tamil audience. Balaji Mohan, who directed the first part, is helming the sequel as well. While the first part had Kajal Agarwal as the female lead, Maari 2 has Sai Pallavi paired opposite Dhanush. Interestingly, the Premam girl is playing an auto driver’s role in Maari 2.

Sai Pallavi has already proven her mettle as an actor with solid performances in movies like Kali, Fidaa and Diya. With Maari 2, we can expect to see another dimension of her. Heroines in mass masala entertainers are mostly confined to romance portions and a few songs but Sai Pallavi’s role in Maari 2 looks like one with a lot of scope.

Sai Pallavi made a stunning entry to cinema with Alphonse Puthren’s Premam. Her performance in the movie made her a sensation all across the South. Post Premam, offers started pouring in for the actress and she soon became a big league heroine in Tamil and Telugu film industries.

Maari 2 is Sai Pallavi’s second outing in Tamil cinema. She made her K-Town debut with the recently released AL Vijay directorial Diya (formerly titled Karu). She also has NGK with Suriya coming up. In Telugu, she has signed for a romantic entertainer with Sharwanand titled Padi Padi Leche Manasu.
