Murali Gopy to script another movie before Lucifer; Prithviraj to play the lead
Murali Gopy has been juggling between scripting and acting for sometime now. Of late, he has been concentrating more on his writings and has a slew of big projects in his kitty.
Murali Gopy struck a chord with Prithviraj while shooting for their upcoming movie Tiyaan, which is written by the former. They share similar tastes in movies and during one of their discussions, Lucifer was born. Mohanlal will be playing the lead in this movie, scripted by Murali Gopy which will also mark Prithviraj’s directorial debut. The official announcement came last year but shoot will commence only by 2018.
However, fans have yet another reason to rejoice. Before starting Lucifer, Murali Gopy will be scripting another movie and this time Prithviraj is playing the lead role. Noted filmmaker Arun Kumar Aravind will helm this project.
Murali Gopy revealed this exciting information in a recent interview with Times Of India. Prithviraj has apparently given the nod and the movie will go on floors, once the actor accommodates dates in between his busy schedule.
In the interview, when asked about the genre of the movie, Murali Gopy is quoted saying, “I am someone who likes to hop genres. It will be something different from the previous movies I have done. If we compare the scripts Arun and I have worked with, each film was different and the subjects we choose keep getting more intense.”
Arun Kumar Aravind and Murali Gopy have previously worked together in Ee Adutha Kaalathu, Left Right Left and One By Two. Arun, who is an editor turned filmmaker, was away from the industry for a while. He is now staging a comeback directing Asif Ali in a rural revenge thriller. The movie is based on legendary filmmaker Padmarajan’s short story and is scripted by his son Anandhapadmanabhan. Murali Gopy is also playing a pivotal role in the movie.
Murali Gopy meanwhile is waiting the release of Tiyaan, directed by debutant Jiyen Krishnakumar. Apart from writing the movie, he has also played a pivotal role as Ramkant Mahasay. He is also scripting Dileep- Sidharth team’s upcoming movie Kammarasambhavam, directed by ad filmmaker Ratheesh Ambat.
