Mohanlal’s Neerali planned as a Vishu release?
Mohanlal is currently in Mumbai shooting for his upcoming movie Neerali, directed by Ajoy Varma. Touted to be a thriller set outside Kerala, the movie is scripted by newcomer Saju Thomas. The movie will be shot largely in Mumbai and Pune while brief portions will also be filmed in Sri Lanka and Mongolia.
Mohanlal has given only 15 days call sheet for the movie. As per reports, Neerali is a small project and the entire shoot will be wrapped up by the end of March. The movie has a lot of CGI works, so acting days are very limited. If things go as per plan, the makers will be releasing the movie for this coming Vishu during the second week of April.
Neerali has two female leads in Parvatii Nair and yesteryear actress Nadiya Moidu. The latter is playing Mohanlal’s wife in this movie, which also marks her comeback to the industry after a five year long gap. Both the female leads have equal scope for performance in the movie. Suraj Venjaramoodu, Dileesh Pothan and Sai Kumar are part of the supporting cast. ‘Eega’ fame Kiccha Sudeep is said to be playing the villain’s role. The makers are also in talks with a leading actor from Bollywood to play a prominent part.
Santhosh Thundiyil is wielding the camera and popular composer Stephen Devassy is handling the music department. Director Ajoy Varma himself is editing the movie. Neerali is being produced by Santhosh T Kuruvilla’s Moonshot Entertainment, and co-produced by John Thomas and Mibu Jose Nettikdan.
