Rajinikanth sports two different looks in ‘Petta’
Superstar Rajinikanth is currently busy shooting for ‘Petta’ with director Karthik Subbaraj. The movie which is touted to be a action packet thriller has the veteran actor in two different looks. While the first look had him in stylish beared avatar, the recently released second poster had him in a dhoti-clad avatar with a big handlebar mustache.
Reportedly, Petta has Rajinikanth playing the role of a teacher in a Christian seminary. He has a lesser known gangster like dark past and hence the two different looks. The movie has an huge star cast, probably the biggest in Tamil cinema in recent years. Vijay Sethupathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Bobby Simha, Simran, Trisha, Malavika Mohanan, Sasikumar and Megha Akash are playing major roles alongside Rajinikanth. Guru Somasundaram, Munishkanth Ramdoss, Manikandan Achari, Sanath Reddy, Deepak Paramesh and ‘Aadukalam’ Naren are also part of the supporting cast.
Vijay Sethupathi and Nawazuddin are reportedly playing the antagonists. Simran is paired with Rajinikanth. The movie’s technical crew includes National award winning cinematographer Tirru, composer Anirudh, editor Vivek Harshan and action choreographer Peter Hein. The team is currently shooting in Varanasi. Shoot is expected to be wrapped up by the end of this year.
Kalanithi Maran is producing the movie under the banner of Sun Pictures. As per reports, the makers are eyeing a grand release early next year.
