Parvathy goes the extra yard for Uyare; Sanjay calls her a dream actor to work with!
Parvathy starrer ‘Uyare’ is an eagerly awaited movie among serious Malayali cinephiles. The movie directed by debutant Manu Ashokan and scripted by Bobby-Sanjay is about an acid attack survivor. Only very few movies have been made in Indian cinema with an acid attack survivor as the protagonist. In ‘Uyare’, Parvathy plays Pallavi Raveendran, a pilot aspirant whose dreams are shattered by an acid attack.
In a recent interview with TOI, scriptwriter Sanjay was all praise of Parvathy for her dedication and the kind of efforts she had puts in for the movie. According to him, she is any director’s dream to work with. Prior to the commencement of shoot, Parvathy had visited Sheroes Hangout, a cafe in Agra run by a group of women who survived acid attacks. From there, she learnt about their lives, their current lifestyle and how the attack affected them, both physically and mentally. She even picked up minute details about how they cry, move their lips and how they chew their food.
Parvathy had also learnt the basics of aircraft flying from an aviation institute. Her make up for the acid attack part was very challenging as applying the prosthetics itself used take up to 3 hours. Since a lot of chemicals were used in the make up, it would singe after a while. The actress had to endure all the pain till the end of shoot. Sanjay says that having an involved actor like Parvathy has helped the the film immensely.
‘Uyare’ also stars Asif Ali and Tovino Thomas in major roles. ‘Theevandi’ fame Samyuktha Menon is also there in a cameo role. The technical crew comprises of cinematographer Mukesh Muraleedharan, editor Mahesh Narayanan and music director Gopi Sunder. S Cube Films, a newly launched banner, is producing the movie.
