Veteran actor Jayaram set to turn a director!
Actors turning directors is nothing new in Malayalam cinema. But of late, there has been a rapid surge in the number of actors who have decided to wield the megaphone. Latest to join the club of actors-turned-filmmakers is veteran Jayaram. In a recent interview, he revealed about his plans to turn a filmmaker.
Apparently, Jayaram has been contemplating about this dream of his for a long time. He has made it clear that his directorial debut will not be a complete commercial cinema but a kind a film that the Malayali audience would hold close to their hearts for a long time. He couldn’t reveal details about when he will start working on it as is presently busy with quite a few acting commitments.
Earlier this year, Prithviraj made his directorial debut with ‘Lucifer’, which emerged as a huge blockbuster. Likewise, Kalabhavan Shajon is donning the director’s hat with ‘Brother’s Day’. Superstar Mohanlal has also announced that his maiden venture as a director would go on floors this October and that it will be an ambitious 3D film. Let’s wait and see how capable Jayaram is as a director. He is currently awaiting the release of ‘My Great Grand Father’, directed by Aneesh Anwar.
