Keerthy Suresh and Ajay Devgn team up for Maidaan
We had earlier reported about Keerthy Suresh foraying into Bollywood. The actress is making her Hindi debut with ‘Maidaan’, a football based flick that has started rolling today. Ajay Devgn plays the lead role in the film, that is being directed by ‘Badhaai Ho’ fame Amit Sharma. Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla and Arunava Joy Sengupta will be jointly producing the movie.
‘Maidaan’ is reportedly based on the life of Syed Abdul Rahim, former Indian football coach, also known as the architect of modern football in India. He had lead Indian football team to the semifinals of 1956 Melbourne Olympics. The film is set in the time period of 1956-62, which was the golden era of Indian football.
Meanwhile offers are flooding in for Keerthy Suresh post her National award win. Besides ‘Maidaan’, she has also signed for a solo lead film in Tamil. Karthik Subbaraj is producing the film, which is said to be an emotional mystery thriller. She also has the multilingual epic film ‘Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham’ coming up.
