John Abraham bags Ayyappanum Koshiyum Hindi remake rights!
‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ has been hot in the remake market ever since the tremendous reception it received during its release time. After the Tamil and Telugu remake rights, then film’s Hindi rights have also been sold. Bollywood superstar John Abraham has acquired the remake rights. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh broke the news by tweeting,
ANNOUNCEMENT… #JohnAbraham acquires #Hindi remake rights of #Malayalam film #AyyappanumKoshiyum… The #Malayalam film – an action-thriller – stars #PrithvirajSukumaran and #BijuMenon… #John’s production house – JA Entertainment – will produce the film.
Since John Abraham has bagged the rights, he is most likely to play one of the leads in the film. The original directed by Sachy had Prithviraj and Biju Menon in the lead roles. Although the remake rights of Tamil and Telugu versions have been bagged, details regarding the cast and crew are not yet known.
‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ is a dual hero film that revolves around the conflict between a soon-to-retire policeman and a retired havildar. It tells an intricately woven tale of revenge with a lot of important socio-political issues addressed. It will be very interesting to see how the film will be adapated to different languages to suit the sensibilities of the native audience.
