Dileep to Lead Dhyan Sreenivasan’s Next Directorial, a Survival Drama Penned by Rakesh Mantodi?
Actor-filmmaker Dhyan Sreenivasan is reportedly set to direct his next feature film, and if the buzz is to be believed, popular Malayalam star Dileep will play the lead role. This upcoming project marks Dhyan’s return to the director’s chair after his 2019 romantic comedy Love Action Drama. The film is said to be a survival drama, with the script penned by acclaimed writer Rakesh Mantodi, known for his work in Godha, Thira, and Oru Jathi Jathakam. While the official announcement is still awaited, the film is expected to go on floors either by the end of this year or early next year.
Interestingly, Dhyan Sreenivasan and Dileep recently shared screen space in the comedy entertainer Prince and Family, and will be seen together again in the upcoming film Bha. Bha. Ba. Their growing on-screen rapport now seems to be extending behind the scenes, with Dhyan directing Dileep in what could be a gripping and intense drama.
Another intriguing detail is the speculation surrounding the launch of a new production house by Dhyan and Vineeth Sreenivasan under their father Sreenivasan’s name. Whether this survival drama will mark the debut project from that banner remains to be seen. In addition to this film, Dhyan and Rakesh Mantodi are also reportedly planning a sequel to their earlier collaboration Thira, adding to the excitement among Malayalam cinema fans.
