PHOTOS : Dummy tiger used in Pulimurugan climax fight scene
Mohanlal’s action packed entertainer Pulimurugan continues to shatter records in the box office. The movie released for the Pooja holidays on October 7th recently crossed the 100 days theatrical run. The movie has also entered the 150 crore club.
Pulimurugan is a story about a wild hunter who hunts down man eating tigers in his locality. Mohanlal played the title role in this movie. His performance in the action sequences were highly appreciated by everyone.
Pulimurugan was highly raved for its technical brilliance. Visuals and CG works used in the movie was a never before seen kind in Malayalam movies. Peter Hein choreographed the stunt sequences in Vietnam with real tigers.
However, recently some photos have been doing the rounds in social media in which we can see dummy tigers being used to shoot the climax portions.
Hollywood movies like Life of Pi and The Revenant have used similar techniques where dummy animals are used to ensure the safety of film actors. It is a common practice in the west. Pulimurugan team have used the same technique to ensure Mohanlal and other actors’ safety.
Pulimurugan is still running successfully in many theatres Kerala. It is also the highest grossing Malayalam movie from the overseas centres.
Directed by Vysakh, the movie will soon have a 3D version, works for which have already started by the team. It was dubbed and released in Telugu as Manyam Puli on December 2nd. The movie received great initial response and has crossed 50 days theatrical run. Telugu media has declared the movie as a superhit.
