No strong characters for heroines in Mollywood : Roma Asrani

Roma Asrani who made her debut through the movie Notebook has been keeping a low profile for sometime now.

In a recent interview, the actress has said that Malayalam movies nowadays do not have strong female characters. Roma got a very big opening through Notebook, directed by Rosshan Andrews. She later followed it up with many other movies where she bagged strong characters to portray. She has acted in movies like Chocolate, July 4, Shakespeare M A Malayalam, Lollypop etc.

The actress says, I waited for more such roles that has some importance in the plot but not many came my way. During that time many directors asked me to do negative roles but I was not interested in those kind of roles.

After a short gap she acted in a movie titled Namasthe Bali directed by K V Bejoy starring Aju Varghese, Balu Varghese and Manoj K Jayan in the lead. Roma has said that eventhough the movie did not do well commercially she got a very good role to play.

The actress who was on a sabbatical break after that is now acting in a movie titled Sathya starring Jayaram in the lead. Roma says that she has a very interesting character that has throughout importance in the movie.

Sathya is an action thriller movie written by A K Sajan and directed by Diphan.
