Popular actor/director/writer and in short one of the best ever all rounder in South Indian film industry, Mr Balachandra Menon last day posted a Facebook status and along with it he posted a screenshot of one of the news we published about his statement about universal hero Kamal Haasan not so long ago. Balachandra Menon in his post says that what we published in our website is a twisted story and he actually never said like that at all. He said that we had published that news in our site in order to get some selfish gains out of that. So it is our duty to explain and clarify with all respect and honor to Mr. Balachandra Menon, who is one of the finest talents we have.
We reported the news about Balachandra Menon’s statement about Kamal Haasan after it came before the readers through one of the leading and popular publishing house Mathrubhoomi and it was in their magazine Star and Style that Balachandra Menon had said that statement. An interview with Balachandra Menon was one of the highlights of the September issue of that magazine and it was all about his coming back to cinema specially to his directorial ventures after a long time.

In that interview the interviewer asked him a question about the abandoned Tamil remake of his Malayalam super hit Ammayane Sathyam with Kamal Haasan in the Tamil version. He began his answer to that question by saying the exact sentence that “fame and power will make some people insane and there are people like that in politics and arts. Kamal Haasan is one such person”. His response to this particular question is what prompted the report. Now, Mr Balachandra Menon is asking through his Facebook post that why we are referring to the instance about that film which got abandoned long years back. But the fact is that it was not us but it was the master director Balachandra Menon himself told about the details of the abandoned project with Kamal Haasan and his opinion about that person.
Sir, it’s in fact not us but it was sir himself let the ghost get out of the bottle. In that news we never said that Balachandra Menon hate Kamal Haasan or something like which insults both these great actors. May be the review we given to your latest directorial venture which is not very positive made you think that we are against you. But the review was an honest opinion of a person who saw the film. Reviews are coming from people who saw the film and it is their opinion that decides the fate of a film. You know it better than any of us. If a good film comes and people likes it, then whoever try to make it a failure by some reviews or something like that will fail miserably and the film will have the last laugh at box office and in the heart of the audience. As young actor Prithviraj said recently, social media always supports good films irrespective of the cast and crew of the film.
We love cinema with a passion. We have never potentially destroyed a film and we never will. So hope you understand our sincerity and innocence in this incident and we are also sharing the content of that interview Mr. Balachandra Menon gave to Mathrubhumi Star and Style.
