Malayalam cinema is gearing up for the big Christmas season of this year as there is almost 12-13 films gearing up for release in this coming December. It can be a record number of December release in Mollywood when consider the recent years history if all the film announced in December releases as per the announcement. There are many anticipated films such as Mammootty’s Puthiya Niyamam by AK Sajan, Dileep’s Two Countries by Shafi, Dulquer Salmaan’s Charlie by Martin Prakkat etc.
Sadly Mohanlal film is absent this year in Christmas fight as his Puli Murugan had a long schedule and will come only in next year much to the disappointment of his fans. Even though the biggest crowd puller is not coming this year with his film, the second best one gearing up for a fight and that too with his son in box office. Yes, it will be a Mammootty vs Dulquer Salmaan battle at box office in this Christmas season.
Mammootty is coming with a film named Puthiya Niyamam this season which was directed by AK Sajan. He had written the script of the film as well. It had Nayanthara as the female lead and said to be a legal thriller. The film is slated for a Christmas release as well. Mammootty is coming after the class hit named Pathemari. But he needs a big hit very badly as he had suffered two disasters back to back after Bhaskar The Rascal this year. But for that he had to fight hard with none other than Dulquer Salmaan who is the son of Mammootty and one of the leading young stars of Mollywood as well. Dulquar is coming with the film named Charlie to fight it out with his father in Box office.
Charlie was directed by Martin Prakatt and it is said to be a musical romantic story which has thrilling elements as well. Dulquer Salmaan also needs a success very badly as his last release here was in March this year and the film 100 days of love was a box office failure as well. So both father and Son will have a tough time fighting with each other and it will be interesting to see who will have the last laugh at box office this year.
