Mammootty: The Great Father of Malayalam slangs

Mammootty gets much appreciation for his role as Nithyananda Shenoy in Puthan Panam. His terrifically enunciated Kasargod slang and his famed ability to portray layered characters is on display once again. He had been trained by screenplay writer P. V. Shajikumar, who happens to be a Kasargod native.

This is not the first time the Megastar has surprised the audience with his amazing slang. He had earlier used the Thiruvananthapuram slang in Anwar Rasheed’s super hit movie Rajamanikyam, where he was trained by Suraj Venjaramoodu. The movie was a huge hit and a special mentioned had gone to the actor for adapting such a change in his slang. He was also seen speaking in Malappuram slang for Baavuttiyude Naamathil.

The actor was also seen as a prominent business man of Thrissur in another Ranjith movie Pranchiyettan and the Saint. The character was a native of Thrissur and had fully spoke in the Thrissur dialect. As expected Mammootty gave out a mesmerizing performance and was well accepted by the audience. The movie had gone to become a huge hit.

The same level of effort and output could be seen in Puthan Panam too. It is certainly the best Mammootty starrer in recent times. The veteran actor is famous for his impeccable prowess in bringing life to characters with a distinct slang and mannerisms. With Nithyananda Shenoy, Mammootty has added one more to that glorious list. Other supporting actors including Siddique, Baiju, Mamukoya, Master Swaraj, Sai Kumar, Kanaran Harish, Indrans, Ineya, Sheelu Abraham, Ganapathi, Niranjana Anoop, Vishak Nair.
