Mohanlal all set to break Mammootty’s record!
Mohanlal is known as the emperor of Mollywood box office and in fact Mollywood as a whole, as most of the records here in Malayalam film industry belongs to him. Though, his recent release 1971 Beyond Borders loosened his range in the box office run he is still regarded as a vital pillar in the growth of Malayalam cinema with many a milestones.
Reports are coming that the actor would be joining hands for the fifth time with Major Ravi after 1971 Beyond Borders to reprise his modus operandi role Major Mahadevan. The film was earlier discussed socially by many but was not officially confirmed. The war film will be surely loaded with technical brilliance as of 1971 Beyond Borders, says close sources.
By such a move, Mohanlal would clearly bounce an inch above Mammootty for having the highest number of sequels playing a specific character. Mammootty had reprised the role of Sethurama Iyer CBI four times in the CBI series: Oru CBI diary Kurippu, Jagratha, Sethurama Iyer CBI and Nerariyan CBI. All of them directed by K Madhu and written by SN Swamy.
Mohanlal played Major Mahadevan in movies like Keerthichakra, Kurukshetra, Kandahar, 1971 Beyond Borders and now this one.
There are also reports coming that Mammootty may play the CBI officer character for the 5th time next year.
