National award winning Bollywood actor Manoj Joshi joins team Odiyan!
Shoot for the much talked about Mohanlal starrer Odiyan is nearing its final stages. Ad filmmaker VA Shrikumar Menon is making his directorial debut with this movie scripted by Harikrishnan. Along with Mohanlal, Prakash Raj and Manju Warrier also play other major roles in the movie. Latest addition to the cast is North Indian actor Manoj Joshi, who won the National award last year for best supporting actor.
Mohanlal plays Manikyan, an odiyan who is highly skilled in Odividya, a kind of black magic practice. Prakash Raj’s character is named Ravunni while Manju Warrier plays the female lead, Prabha. Manoj Joshi is said to be playing the role of Manikyan’s grandfather in the movie. Though it is a brief role, the character is very crucial in the movie’s storyline.
Odiyan’s plot is set in three different timelines starting from the pre-electricty days in the 1950s to 2000. The narrative follows Manikyan’s life from his childhood to his 60s. Narain, Innocent, Kailas, Sana Althaf, Siddique and Nandu are also part of the movie’s supporting cast.
Odiyan’s technical crew includes cinematographer Shaji Kumar, editor Johnkutty, action choreographer Peter Hein, art director Prashanth Madhav and composers M Jayachandran and Sam CS. Antony Perumbavoor is producing Odiyan under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.
