Official: Ajay Devgn to star in Kaithi Hindi remake!
Ever since the release of ‘Kaithi’ last October, there has been talks about the film getting remade in Hindi. Dream Warrior Pictures, the original producers, teamed up with Reliance Entertainment to produce the Hindi version. It has finally been announced that Ajay Devgn will be starring in the Hindi remake. The star’s own banner is also associated with the production. The makers are planning to start shooting in the second half of the year and release it in February, 2021.
Sharing the big news, SR Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures has written in his Twitter handle,
We are thrilled to announce that @ajaydevgn will be playing the lead in @RelianceEnt @DreamWarriorPic and @ADFFilms Hindi remake of #Kaithi. The film will release on February 12, 2021.

‘Kaithi’ starring Karthi in the lead had hit screens during the last Diwali season. Despite facing stiff competition from Vijay’s ‘Bigil’, ‘Kaithi’ had a glorious run at the box office thanks to the highly positive word of mouth from the public. It was director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s second film and he managed to impress one and all.
The biggest highlight of ‘Kaithi’ was it was a pure action film sans any unnecessary hindrances like songs, romance or a separate comedy track. Critics and commoners unanimously praised the film and it emerged as a blockbuster success. The film ends on a cliffhanger with a potential opening for a second part. Both Karthi and the makers had announced that a sequel is on the cards.
As of now, it remains to be seen if the Hindi version starring Ajay Devgn will be a faithful remake without any unwanted commercial elements.
