Premam remake titled Majnu in Telugu

Alphonse Putharen’s Premam is all set to speak Telugu. The official remake of the movie is titled as Majnu. The character George will be played by Akkineni Naga Chaitanya in the lead. As per sources the movie will start its shoot by the end of this year or next year. The Telugu version of Premam will be directed by Chandu Mondeti and produced by S. Radha Krishna.

About the female leads of the movie, there is a happy news for Malayalis that Anupama Parameshwaran has been casted in the Telugu version as one of the female leads. Anupama played the character Mary in the Malayalam version. Along with Anupama Parameshwaran the film will be featuring actress Amyra Dastur and the team is looking for the the third female lead, as per sources. The team is considering Shruti Haasan for the third female lead and the discussions are going on but still no confirmation about it.

When a much recognised movie is been remade into another language, people will be expecting very much that how it will be rendered in that language. Premam is an acclaimed movie and the Telugu version Majnu is the official remake of it. It will be interesting to know how the movie will be directed by Chandu Mondeti after watching the style of Alphonse Putharen. For Malayalis, Premam has been one of those movies which is near to their heart and hope the Telugu remake will show some respect and do justice to its original version.

From the Malayalam version only Anupama Parameshwaran has been called to play one of the female leads as per reports and so far there are no details about the role she will be playing in the Telugu version. Premam which is still running at the theatres got the second position in the highest grossing Malayalam cinema after Drishyam.

The blockbuster Premam had a cast of Nivin Pauly, Madonna Sebastian, Sai Pallavi and Anupama Parameswaran in the leads. The other casts who appeared in prominent roles were Krishna Shankar, Shabareesh Varma and Vinay Forrt. There was a cameo appearance by Alphonse Putharen and Renji Panicker as well. The movie was written, edited and directed by Alphonse Putharen and produced by Anwar Rasheed under the production company Anwar Rasheed Entertainments. Premam was a movie which focussed on the three different ages portraying different walks of a person’s life finding true love in the end. Let’s see how the Telugu version will be.
