Cappuccino starring youngsters is gearing up for release

Cappuccino, upcoming Malayalam movie starring youngsters in the major roles is gearing up for release. Dharmajan, after the blockbuster success of Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan, is playing one of the major roles in the movie.

Cappuccino is directed by Naushad Media City. The movie has a big star cast that includes Adi Kapyare Kootamani fame Vineeth Mohan, Harish Kanaran, Sudhi Koppa, Aneesh G Menon, Sunil Sugatha, Anwar Shareef, Manoj Guinness, Raveendran, Aneetta and Sharanya in supporting roles.

Post production works for the movie is currently progressing in Kochi. According to the makers, it is a full length comedy entertainer. Cappuccino is produced by Dr. Scott under the banner of Paning Calm Films Productions.

Ramesh Pisharody is very popular among Malayalis for his anchoring skills and his spontaneous humour. Even though, he has acted only in a very few films, his TV anchoring and performance in various stage shows has made him an audience favourite.

As per trustworthy reports, Ramesh Pisharody is all set to wear the director’s hat. Talks are rife about Jayaram playing the lead in Pisharody’s directorial debut. The duo are very close to each other as they both come from mimicry background. They have also worked together in movies like Aadupuliyattam, Achayans etc.

Ramesh Pisharody has informed that he will be announcing the movie officially with the cast and crew details within ten days. He confirmed that the film will go on floors by the end of this year.

Jayaram, meanwhile has committed for Mankatha director Venkat Prabhu’s upcoming multistarrer. The movie titled as Party, has a huge star cast that includes Sathyaraj, Jai, Shiva, Nivetha Pethuraj, Sampath, Naseer, Ramya Krishnan, Sanchita Shetty and Regina Cassandra. Jayaram has previously worked with Venkat Prabhu in Saroja, the director’s second film.

Jayaram is also in talks to play the lead in the Tamil remake of his movie My Big Father. His next Malayalam release will be Aakasha Mittayee, the official remake of Samuthirakani’s Tamil movie Appa.

After the release of Iraivi, director Karthik Subbaraj had informed that his next film will be with Dhanush. However, due to the actor’s prior commitments, the project had to be postponed. In the meanwhile, Karthik roped in actor turned filmmaker Prabhudeva to play the lead in his new film.

The movie titled as Mercury is a silent film, meaning, there will be no dialogues. Prabhudeva is reportedly playing a negative role in the film. Shoot for the movie has already been wrapped up. The team had been quietly shooting for the film in different parts of Kerala and Pondicherry.

Remya Nambeesan, who played the female lead in Karthik Subbaraj’s debut film Pizza, is playing a pivotal role in Mercury. It is reported that she is playing a very prominent character alongside Prabhudeva, but the makers are tight lipped about the details regarding the nature of her character remains a secret.

Apart from Remya, Sananth Reddy of Jil Jung Juk fame will also be seen in a pivotal role. Tirru, who won the national award this year for his work in 24, is handling the camera and Santhosh Narayanan, a regular in Karthik’s films, is handling the music department.

Mercury is being funded by Karthik Subbaraj’s own production house Stone Bench Films & Originals.

Actress Sridevi is currently busy with the promotions of her upcoming movie MOM, which she is producing as well. While attending a press meet recently in Andhra Pradesh, Sridevi opened up about why she declined the offer to play Sivagami’s character in Baahubali.

SS Rajamouli had initally approached Sridevi for the role of Sivagami in Baahubali. Reportedly, Sridevi had quoted a hefty sum as remuneration and eventually the offer reached Ramya Krishnan’s hands. Even after the release of both the parts, talks about why Sridevi refused the Baahubali offer has not yet settled down.

In the recent press meet, Sridevi clarified about all the confusions regarding the same.

She said, “I have refused many films in my career but I don’t know why this alone is being talked about. And that too, both the parts of the film have come out and now people are talking about this. I have my own reasons for refusing it. There are various talks regarding my remuneration and my so-called demands like a chartered flight or an entire floor in a hotel. Till now I have not made any comment on this. But I would like to state that all of them are false. I have acted in 300 films till now and could I have accomplished this if I were to be demanding such things? This is totally baseless. My husband is also a producer and I know the problems of a producer. I had never made any such demands. I also heard that director SS Rajamouli had spoken about this. As far as I have heard about Rajamouli, he is a dignified gentleman. There could have been a miscommunication. I am extremely saddened by his comment in a public platform”.

A few days ago, SS Rajamouli in an interview had remarked that they were fortunate that Sridevi opted out of the Baahubali franchise. He said, “After hearing a series of wishes from Sridevi, we thought that it would be above our budget to meet her demands. Then we approached Ramya Krishnan and she proved herself fantastic and we now feel, we were lucky that we dropped the idea of having Sridevi in our film. The movie wouldn’t have been like that had if she has done Sivagami’s role. Sridevi is known for subtle performances and she doesn’t have a powerful voice. Whereas, Ramya Krishnan has a terrific screen presence, voice and is capable of delivering a power packed performance.”

As per the director, Sridevi had made some unreasonable demands including booking an entire floor in a five-star hotel and business class tickets from Mumbai to Hyderabad everytime she flied down for shooting. The actress even demanded a share from the Hindi version of Baahubali. The makers of Baahubali could not accept her demands and eventually approached Ramya Krishnan for the role.

Meanwhile, Sridevi’s upcoming movie Mom is gearing up for release on July 7. The movie, directed by Ravi Udayawar is also the 300th film of Sridevi. It is being released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.

We had earlier reported about Fahadh Faasil teaming up with hit maker Anwar Rasheed. An official announcement regarding the movie was made today with a title revealing poster. The movie has been titled as Trance.

Trance means a psychological state induced by a magical incantation. It is a state of mind in which consciousness is fragile or missing. The vibrant title poster also indicates the same with trippy shades.

Newbie Vincent Vadakkan has scripted the movie. Cinematographer turned filmmaker Amal Neerad is cranking the camera. Debutant Jackson Vijayan will be composing the music. Academy Award winner Resul Pookutty has been roped in as the sound designer. Anwar Rasheed himself is producing the movie under his banner Anwar Rasheed Entertainment.

This upcoming movie will start rolling very soon. Earlier in an interview, Fahadh had mentioned that it will be the biggest film in his career. Anwar Rasheed has only delivered successful films and when he teams up with a great actor like Fahadh, expectations are certainly on the higher side.

The duo had earlier planned to work on a movie titled as Maniyarayil Jinn but it could not materialize due to some unknown reasons. In 2013, Anwar Rasheed directed the segment Aami in 5 Sundharikal, an anthology of five movies. Fahadh Faasil played the central character in that segment. Apart from that, Fahadh has also worked under Anwar Rasheed’s production in Bangalore Days, directed by Anjali Menon.

Meanwhile, Fahadh’s upcoming movie Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum, directed by Dileesh Pothen is all set to hit screens on June 29.

My Big Father to be remade in Tamil

Jayaram-Guinness Pakru starrer My Big Father is all set to be remade in Tamil. The movie, directed by SP Mahesh was a moderate success in Malayalam. It is the story of a dwarf father and his tall and handsome son. The director is now planning to remake the movie in Tamil.

Reportedly, Jayaram and Guinness Pakru are being considered to play the lead roles in the Tamil version also. Jayaram is a very popular face in Tamil cinema and Guinness Pakru has also acted in a few Tamil movies like Dishyoom, Kavalan, Ezham Arivu etc.

However, Jayaram has not yet officially signed for the movie. He has a few prior commitments and date issues. If he is unable to commit for the project, chances are high for the makers to approach Vijay Sethupathi or Dhanush. Kaniha played the female lead in Malayalam and she might be reprising her role in the Tamil version also.

My Big Father will not be remade as it is. The plot will be slightly tweaked to suit the sensibilities of the Tamil audience. Script works for the same are currently progressing. Most of the technicians in the film will be from Malayalam. Pre-production works are already underway and the movie is expected to start rolling soon

Tomichan Mulakupadam, the producer of Ramaleela, has written a note in his Facebook page elaborating about how he is deeply pained over the accusations against Dileep. He has written that the master minds behind this conspiracy are not just against Dileep, they are also trying the wreck the release of Ramaleela.

He has written, Ramaleela is the result of hardwork and perseverance of many people over 70 days. It is the long time dream of Arun Gopi, a newcomer filmmaker. Tomichan has concluded the note by saying that the conspirators should realize that Dileep has become a crowd favourite by his hardwork and audience support. He hopes to see the same kind of support forever.

Last day, Dileep had posted on his Facebook page stating that he is ready to undergo a lie detector test to prove his innocence in the actress assault case. He also alleged that attempts were being made to demean his image and thereby affect the release of his upcoming movie.

He underwent this incredible body transformation for playing the lead character’s two different looks; one as a old man with a flabby tummy and grey hair and the other in his prime age as a wrestler with a chiselled physique.

Currently, Aamir is seen sporting a new look with his nose and ears pierced. This will be his get up for the upcoming movie Thugs of Hindostan. It is an highly anticipated movie as two of Indian cinema’s biggest superstars, Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan are teaming up for the first time.

This is arguably the biggest collaboration in Indian cinema and expectations are already soaring high. Recently photos of them sitting together for script discussions went viral in social medias. Aamir is sporting a twirled moustche and he has got multiple piercings in his ears and nose.

Thugs of Hindostan is being directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films. It is an adaptation of the 1839 novel Confessions of a Thug. The movie is set in the 18th century and will have pirates in the narrative.

Aamir Khan has previously worked with the director in Dhoom 3. He is reportedly playing a pirate in Thugs Of Hindostan and his rough look has already grabbed the eyeballs. Katrina Kaif and Dangal fame Fathima Sana Sheikh are also part of this big budget movie.

In today’s scenario, marketing is quintessential for any movie and when it is a high profile big budget film like 2.0, then promotions should be done globally. And that is exactly how the movie’s makers are planning their promotions. A hot air balloon adorned with life size images of superstar Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar is all set to float over the Hollywood signage in Los Angeles.

The balloons will also float over San Francisco, London, Dubai, Australian, European and a few South East Asian countries. 2.O is the much awiated sequel to director Shankar’s 2010 blockbuster Enthiran. Lyca Productions is investing a mammoth budget of Rs 450 crores, which is the highest for any Indian film currently under production.

Reportedly, the production house is also planning to bring the hot air balloons to India and fly it in various cities. Many stars from across the country are expected participate in this first of it’s kind ride.

Shankar has written the movie along with popular writer Jeyamohan. 2.O marks the South Indian debut of Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar. British beauty Amy Jackson is playing the female lead in this sci-fi thriller. It is already known that Akshay Kumar is playing the prime antagonist, and he will be seen as a crazy doctor in the movie. Adil Hussain, Sudhanshu Pandey, Malayali actor Kalabhavan Shajon and Riyaz Khan are also part of the cast.

2.0 was initially scheduled to hit screens in October this year, but it was later postponed to next January citing post-production reasons.
