Vineeth Sreenivasan will soon be a father!

Vineeth Sreenivasan and his wife Divya Narayanan are expecting the arrival of their first baby. Talks about Divya’s pregnancy have been doing rounds ever since she was spotted at her brother in law Dhyan Sreenivasan’s wedding in April.

Vineeth, recently posted a photo of Divya with her baby bump in his official Instagram account. The soon-to-be-father titled it as ‘That’s two people’.

Divya and Vineeth entered marital life in October 2012 after 8 long years of relationship. Divya has worked as a as a dubbing artist in Vineeth Sreenivasan’s last directorial Jacobinte Swargarayam. She lent voice for the character Ammu Jacob, played by Aima Rose Sebastian in the movie.

Vineeth is currently awaiting the release of his new movie Oru Cinemakkaaran, directed by Leo Thaddeus of Payyans fame. After the movie’s release, Vineeth will be taking a break from movies to spend time with his wife.

Vineeth will soon be joining the new brigade of Mollywood fathers like Dulquer Salmaan, Nivin Pauly and Asif Ali, who all welcomed their baby girls recently.

SS Rajamouli reveals plans about his next film

SS Rajamouli has just delivered Baahubali: The Conclusion, the highest grossing movie in India. The movie smashed several pre-existing records and currently stands with a worldwide gross of around Rs 1680 cr. It is the second highest grossing Indian movie after Aamir Khan’s Dangal.

Audience across the country have been eagerly waiting to hear what next from Rajamouli. The director has finally revealed about his plans post Baahubali. While talking to a popular Telugu news channel, the director said that his next movie would not have VFX-orientation. Unlike his previous works, his upcoming movie will not involve much of visual effects, eventhough it is being conceived on a big scale.

When he was asked whether his next movie would be a small-budgeted film, Rajamouli replied, “No, It will not have orientation of VFX. Just because there won’t be visual effects, it doesn’t mean that it is going to be a small film. It can be a big-budget movie sans VFX.”

Apparently, the director had asked his father Vijayendra Prasad to write a story that has more stress on emotional core. Rajamouli believes that emotions have always been their strength. Apart from Maryada Ramanna and Eega, all his other movies including the Baahubali franchise is written by Vijayendra Prasad. Script works for the upcoming movie are currently progressing and more details regarding the project expected to be revealed in a few weeks time.

Ajith starrer Vivegam’s Kerala rights bagged by Pulimurugan makers

Thala Ajith’s much awaited spy-thriller Vivegam is slated to hit screens in August, this year. The movie marks the third time teaming up of Ajith with director Siruthai Siva after Veeram and Vedhalam. According to our sources, the distribution rights for Vivegam in Kerala has been bought by Mulakupadam Films, the producers of Malayalam cinema’s biggest ever blockbuster Pulimurugan. The rights are reportedly bagged for a huge amount, perhaps the biggest ever for an Ajith starrer.

Ajith has extended his popularity to Kerala considerably over the past few years. Vivegam is his first release in two years and the highly impressive teaser has increased the expectations multifold. Ajith is playing the role of an agent in Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). The actor has undergone a terrific make-over for the movie by shedding down a lot of extra pounds.

The first look poster of Vivegam took everyone by surprise as Ajith was seen flaunting his six packs with his famous salt and pepper hair style. Kajal Agarwal is playing the female lead while Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi and Kamal Haasan’s younger daughter Akshara Haasan will be seen in prominent roles.

Major portions of the movie were shot in European countries. Young sensation Anriudh Ravichander is composing the music while Vetri has handled the cinematography. This big budget movie is produced by Satya Jyothi Films.

Megastar Mammootty’s next with noted ad filmmaker Sharrath Sandith recently went on floors in Bangalore. As per latest reports, movie has been titled as Parole. As the name suggests, some major portions will be shot in jail and it’s premises.

This yet to be titled movie marks the debut directorial of noted ad filmmaker Sharrath Sandith’s. Mammootty has worked with Sharrath in some ad films for South Indian bank. The director has assured that his debut movie will have a classy presentation just like his ad films.

Parole, scripted by Ajith Poojappura is reportedly based on some true incidents. It is a family drama cum thriller in which Mammootty will be seen as a prisoner. It is worth a mention that Mammootty has previously played the role of prisoners in some of his popular films like New Delhi, Munnariyippu etc.

Mia George has been roped in to play one of the female leads in Parole. The makers are yet to finalise on the other heroine. The team is planning to complete the shoot in two schedules – 25 days in Bangalore and the rest in Kerala. Jude Sudheer and Juby Ninan are jointly producing the movie under the banner of J&J Productions.

Mammootty, meanwhile has a slew of movies in his kitty. He is currently on a schedule break from Rajadhiraja fame Ajai Vasudev’s Masterpice. The movie, scripted by Pulimurugan writer Udhayakrishna features Mammootty in the role of a college professor.

The final schedule of his upcoming family entertainer with 7th Day fame Shyam Dhar commenced recently in Idukki. This untitled movie is slated to hit screens for the Onam season.

Noted cinematographer Shamdat Sainudeen’s debut directorial Streetlights is another movie in the pipeline. The movie is being made as a bilingual in Tamil and Malayalam. It is funded by Mammootty’s own production house Playhouse Pictures.

One of the leading actresses of the South, Trisha will be making her debut in Malayalam with ace filmmaker Shyamaprasad’s upcoming movie Hey Jude. Trisha is paired opposite the hot and happening young star of Mollywood, Nivin Pauly.

Eventhough the project was announced two months back, there are no further updates about it. Reportedly, the movie will be a breezy romantic entertainer in which Nivin Pauly will be seen playing the title character, Jude.

Hey Jude will be produced by Anil Kumar under the banner of Ambalakkara Films. The movie be shot across Mangalore and Kochi. An official announcement regarding the commencement of shoot is expected very soon.

Shyamaprasad is one of the most revered filmmakers in Mollywood. He has directed several critically and commercially acclaimed movies. He is known for sketching strong characters that will have ample scope for performance. Shyamaprasad has earlier worked with Nivin Pauly in two movies; English and Ivde.

Nivin Pauly and Trisha were seen sharing a few laughs at the recently held 64th Jio Filmfare Awards. It seems like the pair already share a great rapport with each other. Nivin won the Best Actor Award for his performance in Action Hero Biju while Trisha won the Critics Best Actor award for her portrayal of a Rudra, a grey shaded politician in Dhanush’s Kodi.

Shoot for Mohanlal’s upcoming movie Velipadinte Pusthakam is currently progressing in Trivandrum. The movie, directed by Lal Jose, marks his first time collaboration with the superstar.

Velipadinte Pusthakam, written by Benny P Nayarambalam is a campus based entertainer in which Mohanlal will be seen in the role of a college vice principal. The movie will be about the relationship between teachers and students.

Mohanlal is playing the role of professor Mathew Idicula. He is seen sporting a new look for this character. With the long hair, specs and beard, he reminds us of his get up in the movie Devadoodthan, which was released back in 2000. As per reports, the superstar will have two more looks in Velipadinte Pusthakam. He will be seen with a moustache-only look in the flashback portions and a surprise new getup in the climax sequence.

Angamaly Diaries fame Anna Reshma Rajan is playing the female lead in the movie. She is essaying the role of Mary, an assistant professor in the same college. Angamaly Diaries fame Sarath Kumar, Aanandam fame Arun Kurian and Jude Anthany Joseph are playing the role of college students in the movie.

Anoop Menon, Priyanka Nair, Siddique Alencier Ley Lopez and many other supporting actors are also part of the cast. Godha fame Vishnu Sarma is cranking the camera while Shaan Rahman will be composing the music. The movie is produced by Mohanlal’s own production house Aashirvad Cinemas.

After wrapping the Tamil Nadu schedule, Tovino Thomas will soon join the sets of his upcoming movie Mayaanadhi in Kochi. The movie, directed by Aashiq Abu stars Aishwarya Lekshmi as the female lead.

As per reports, Mayaanadhi is an intense romantic story. The movie is scripted jointly by Dileesh Nair and Shyam Pushkar based on filmmaker Amal Neerad’s story. The team had been shooting for over two weeks in Madurai and Kodaikanal before moving to Kochi.

Mayaanadhi is an urban love story and Aishwarya Lekshmi will be playing the role of a techie based in Kochi. Her debut movie Njandukalude Naatil Oridavela, where she played the female lead opposite Nivin Pauly, is yet to be released.

We had earlier reported that Tamil actor Harish Uthaman will be playing the villain role in Mayaanadhi. He is reportedly playing the role of a CBCID officer. Harish is noted for his perfomance in movies like Pandiya Naadu, Meagamann, Thani Oruvan, Bairavaa etc. He was last seen in Malayalam in the Prithviraj starrer Mumbai Police.

Mayaanadhi is jointly produced by Aashiq Abu’s OPM Dream Mil Cinemas and Amal Neerad’s banner Amal Neerad Productions. Rex Vijayan is handling the music department while Jayesh Mohan is cranking the camera. Saiju Sreedharan is in charge of the edits. The movie is scheduled to hit screens by the end of this year.

As per the latest reports, Dulquer Salmaan’s much awaited movie Solo is eyeing an August release. The movie directed by Bejoy Nambiar is being made as a bilingual in Tamil and Malayalam.

The movie has been in the making for over 6 months now. It was shot in multiple schedules as the movie has a huge star cast and the makers had to accommodate the dates accordingly.

Solo’s star cast includes actors from several industries across the country. Veteran actors Nasser and Suhasini will be seen as Dulquer’s parents in the film while Sheelu Abraham is playing another prominent role as his sister. Bollywood actor Dino Morea, Manoj K Jayan, Ann Augustine, Arti Venkatesh, Sai Dhansika, Deepti Sati, Marathi actress Sai Tamhankar, Sruthi Hariharan, Prakash Belawadi, Bengali filmmaker Quashiq Mukherjee, Sathish, Soubin Shahir, John Vijay and many others are part of the cast.

Reportedly, Solo is about the four elements – Earth, Fire, Water and Wind. Director Bejoy Nambiar has woven these elements into four stories with love and revenge as the premise. Dulquer will be seen in multiple looks for this movie.

Abraham Mathew is producing this film under the banner of Abaam Movies in association with Getaway Films. An official word regarding the release date is expected in the coming days.

SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali : The Conclusion has crossed 50 days and is nearing it’s end of theatrical run in Kerala. As the movie is coming to it’s final days release there is a considerable dip in the box office returns collections. Despite that the movie has already emerged as the highest grossing non-Malayalam movie in Kerala.

As per trade sources, the movie has grossed m Rs 72.80 crores from it’s 52 days theatrical run in the Kerala box office alone. The Kerala distribution rights for Baahubali 2: The Conclusion was bought by United Global Media for an amount of Rs 13 crores. This suggests that the distributor’s share alone is amounted to be over Rs 40 crores.

Upon it’s release on April 28, the movie registered a new record for the highest first day grosser in Kerala by raking in Rs 5.90 crores. The following weeks witnessed unprecedented response for a non-Malayalam movie has been in Kerala. People flocked theatres in large numbers with families to watch this action epic drama.

Inspite of some big releases like Dulquer Salmaan’s CIA, Ramante Edanthottam, Tovino Thomas starrer Godha and Achayans, Baahubali 2 has managed to hold steady at the box office. Baahubali 2 was released in Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi languages in Kerala.

The SS Rajamouli directorial has crossed over Rs 1600 crore mark from it’s earnings in all the versions in the worldwide box office. The Hindi version alone has grossed over Rs 730 crores while the collective earnings from Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam versions gross is around Rs 630 crores, taking the India gross to around Rs 1360 crores. In the overseas market, the film has earned around Rs 315 crores gross, thus taking its worldwide total to Rs 1675 crores.
