Baahubali 2 is now the fastest Indian movie to breach the 500 crore mark

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion is doing tremendous business in the box office raking in huge numbers. According to latest reports, the movie has crossed the 500 crore mark from the box office collections worldwide. It is now the fastest Indian movie to do so.

This is also the first time that an Indian movie has been able to gross above Rs 400 crore in a week. Baahubali has gone past the 500 crore mark in three days and is still continuing the phenomenal run.

The net collections of the Hindi version alone is estimated as Rs 128 crores. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted,

The movie is now eyeing to overhaul the first week record that is currently held by Salman Khan’s Sultan. The movie is creating history in US and other overseas centres setting the box office on fire. He has committed for a film each with directors Sujeeth and Radha Krishna. There are talks that he will be working on both these projects simultaneously.

Earlier, there were also reports about Prabhas making his much awaited Bollywood debut soon under Karan Johar’s production, but as of now Prabhas has not signed any other movie.

Baahubali 2 is getting unprecedented response from the audience worldwide. Celebrities are also hyping their praise on the team and their efforts to bring out what is the biggest Indian movie in terms of scale.

Acclaimed filmmaker Shankar, often called as the showman of Indian cinema recently took to social media to appreciate SS Rajamouli and his movie Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. He wrote,

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has opened to massive response all over the world. Ever since it’s release on April 28, the movie has rewritten a slew of records.

In Kerala, Baahubali 2 is getting a reception that is normally seen only for Mollywood superstar movies. Most theatres are running with full occupancy even for the late night special shows. According to latest reports from trade sources, Baahubali 2 has grossed Rs 17.80 crores from the first three days of it’s theatrical run in Kerala.

Baahubali 2 had a massive release in around 320 screens in Kerala, which is the biggest ever for any movie in the state. It had scripted a new opening day record in Kerala box office by grossing around Rs 5.90 crores. The movie toppled the figures of The Great Father (4.31), Kabali (4.20) and Pulimurugan (4.05).

Baahuabli 2: The Conclusion was released simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi languages in 6500 screens all over India. The Major Ravi directorial was panned by the critcs and let down by the fans also. According to reports from trade sources, 1971 Beyond Borders has managed to gross just 6.70 crore from the Kerala office.

Only a handful of theatres are screening the movie currently. Trade sources inform that the final gross will be somewhere around this figure. The movie has ended as a huge disappointment considering the fact that Mohanlal’s last three movies before 1971 Beyond Borders did lifetime business of more than Rs 50 crores.

1971 Beyond Borders is the fourth installment in the Major Mahadevan series. The film, based on the 1971 Indo-Pak war was made as a big budget movie with a huge star cast. The director had roped in several actors from other industries like Allu Sirish, Arunoday Singh, Srushti Dange and Priyanka Agarwal to give it a pan Indian appeal. Haneef Muhammed’s Red Rose Creations produced the movie.
